After the trail period was over, I deceided to uninstall it an continue using McAfee. Now my McAfee window constantly pops up to say that the firewall is turned off. I try to https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB51683 turn it back on, but it instantly turns itself back off againAfter reading the posts of some other people with similar problems, I tried RUN then services.msc to check the windows firewall, but "Windows Firewall Service" does not appear on the list of services. On this list, I did see McAfee Personal Firewall Service. I tried selecting "Start" for this service, but the error message: https://mcafee-external-v8.hosted.jivesoftware.com/thread/52225?start=0&tstart=0 "Windows could not start the McAfee Personal Firewall Service service on Local ComputerError 1075: The dependecny service does not exist or has been marked for deletion"appears. Can anyone help with this? They are listed here: http://www.avg.com/ww-en/utilitiesThen try running the Virtual Technician to see if it finds and fixes anything, sometimes running it twice helps: http://mvt.mcafee.com/If not then try uninstalling McAfee via Control Panel. Then run the MCPR cleanup tool, reboot.Reinstall from the online account. Now if that doesn't cure the situation, I suggest you contact Technical Support. It's free by phone or online chat and available trhough Useful Links or McAfee Support at the top of this page. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. A scan with Spybot Search and Destroy this week found mcafee personal firewall Smitfraud-c.generic, and a scan with TDSSKiller found Rootkit.Boot.Pihar.b. Both were supposedly removed by those programs. However, I'm also running Mcafee - which failed to find that malware. Now, Mcafee's firewall will not stay activated. When I try to start the service, I get a msg that says: error 1075: the dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion. Now I don't know if my system has been fully cleaned. Here are the DDS logs. I also have a HijackThis log and TDSS logs if necessary.
