Hi! While backing a SQL database onto another system after mapping the drive I get this error saying "Operating system error 112(There is not enough space on the disk.)..". There's a lot of space on http://www.dbforums.com/showthread.php?768901-Operating-system-error-112(There-is-not-enough-space-on-the-disk-) the Destination server. But when I back it up onto the same machine the backup's successfull. I'm not even able to copy and paste the backed up file onto another machine. can someone help me out on this The size of the DB is 5GB. Is it the problem with the size?? Thankyou For answering Satya and Loach... I'm logged in with Sa user on the server and also logged on in administrative mode on both the machines (source and destination servers) I think I've not communicated clearly I'll try and put in my query more eloborately. 1. We have a server which hosts the SQL server and the Database X installed on it. The size of the database when backedup is around 5 GB. 2. We have a backup server which has all the backed up files. 3. I've scheduled the backup using the SQL server agent (Scheduled in Sa user mode). 4. I've created a folder by name DB backup on the backup server and I've assigned access rights to it for administrator user. 5. I've mapped the DB backup folder as a network drive to the Server. 6. Could not adjust the space allocation not enough space for file 'xyz_LOG'. restore database is terminating abnormally."Here is some more information.* I do have enough disk space. I don't know why its saying there is not enough disk space because i've around 2.55 GB disk space available and my backup file from which i'm trying to do this database restore (with .bak extension) is only 177 MB!I also checked database property of the production database from which I created this back up file. That database has datafile size 278MB and trasaction log file size 3277 MB.I'm new to sql server and trying to get this solved since last week but no luck. While trying to resolve this issue I am creating new problems every day with the existing databases (One of which i posted just 2 days ago here)! please help me out. Windows Server > Migration Question 0 Sign in to vote I am trying to migrate data from one server to another server but after copying some folders getting error message and stopped data copy. However on target server has enough free space. I am migrating data from Windows 2003 STD to Windows 2008 R2. The same command used several times and never caused any problem but not sure why getting this error now. Moreover I can't modify folders permission becuase it may disrupt the access. Please suggest how this could be resolved. There is folder level Quota enabled and while checking I found that quota settings were wrong. It was set as "create quota on path" (marked red).Whenever start data copy after sometime it reached to maximum quota limit and start throws error. So i changed it to option " Auto apply template and create quota on existing and new subfolders". This option has resolved the issue becuase itcreate quota for each folder and itssubfoldersrather than creating on root folderonly.
