Error 1305 Error Reading From File Verify That The File Exists
of Heroes - Won't install, get 1305 error code (file missing/not available) Discussion in 'PC Gaming' started by Budarow, company of heroes error 183 Dec 26, 2007. Budarow Golden Member Joined: Dec 16, 2001 Messages: 1,918 Likes Received: 0 Per Google, I've found quite a few peeps (mostly from 2006) with the "error code 1305" issue. http://www.geekpolice.net/t4291-error-1305-when-installing-company-of-heroes I've done the "clean boot" method (in MsConfig) and the DMA steps and no go (as mentioned on the Relic site). Also, I've temporarily installed a new DVD burner (Samsung 203 which came out in 2007), tried to install and same problem. Also, I don't think the disk is the issue since it's brand new and I've installed COH on my 2 other https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/company-of-heroes-wont-install-get-1305-error-code-file-missing-not-available.124837/ PCs with no problem. Prior to installation, I shut down every progy except Systray and Explorer prior to installation. I've also tried to "copy" the game folders from 1 PC to the problem PC with no luck. EDITED: I get the 1305 error code right after the installation instructions call for Disk 2 to be inserted. So I'm thinking the error occurs while moving files from Disk 1 onto my hard drive. I'm running WinXP (all updates) on an nForce2 mobo (ABIT NF7 Version 2). I don't believe it's a video or sound driver issue since the game won't even install. Although I did notice that when the install is starting to fail, I get "sound studdering" with the "background music". EDITED: In the COH forums, a poster had a problem installing the game and a Relic rep said to install the game on Drive C. I may do a re-installation of WinXP Pro and leave more room on the hard drive for Drive C so I can install COH on Drive C (with the OS). Any ideas on how to get COH installed on my PC? Thanks,

The easiest way to fix a problem with these folders is to reset permissions on the directories in question. This can be done manually by comparing the permissions on the folder to another installation of Windows company of heroes with the correct permissions set on the folder in question. An easier way of doing this would be to just reset the permissions to that of the parent folder. A quick and easy tool can be used to achieve this:http://sunbelt-software.com/support/utils/inherit.exeDownload this application and place it on your desktop. You can then drag and drop the file or folder you intend to reset permissions on over the top of this application in order to reset the permissions for it.If done correctly, a prompt displaying the text OK will pop up. This indicates successful execution of the application. Folders that are particularly susceptible to permissions corruption are listed below.Windows XP: %UserProfile%\Application Data %UserProfile%\Application Data\GFI Software %UserProfile%\Application Data\GFI Software\Antimalware C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GFI Software C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GFI Software\Antimalware Windows Vista / 7 / 8: C:\ProgramData C:\ProgramData\GFI Software C:\ProgramData\GFI Software\Antimalware %UserProfile%\AppData\ %Use
