Jimmy S. 2006-01-25 13:39:21 UTC PermalinkRaw Message Hi Kevin,You can get that CD replaced by Microsoft:Call the MS Product Replacement Centre:http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=326246Otherwise ...That type of error could mean the CD is corrupt... Check the http://microsoft.public.ageofempires.narkive.com/LiuFaXXs/error-1305-age-of-empires-3-install-problem CDand the CD Player. Clean both using a Cleaning Kit, and check forscratches on the CD. Try installing the game on another computer,if the game installs, the culprit is probably your CD ROM drive if itdoesn't install then it's the CD, in which case you need to replace it.Before replacing the CD, try copying it to your hard drive and thenrun the setup / installation program from there. To copy the CD goto My Computer, Right-Click the CD, Choose "Copy", then Right-Click on your Hard Drive, Choose "Paste".Uninstall the game using Add-Remove programs before attemptingto reinstall it. (Start / Control Panel / Add-Remove Programs). Here are three basic troubleshooting steps which I recommend:1. To see if it's a software conflict: Temporarily disable Startupprograms one at a time, starting with Firewall, Antivirus, and adblockers using: http://new.jtsoft2001.com/windows/startup.phpYou can lookup what a program does before you disable it here:http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php2. Run a virus scan at: http://housecall.antivirus.

Try running the installer/autorun from the dvd as an administrator. If It doesn't work, disable UAC from the Control Panel -- User Account Control. If you can't manage to get it working, it could be a problem with the dvd media itself (dirty or scratched?) or with the dvd reader. In this case, a solution could be making a backup image of the dvds with a program like Alcohol and then mounting them. Hope this helps. May 9, 2010 #4 (You must log in or sign up to reply here.)
