Causes: You may have incorrect user permissions set on the installation target folder. Solution: One possible solution is to make sure you have full permission to the destination folder where your program is being installed. Locate the folder on your installation drive. Right-click the folder and click Properties. On the Security tab make sure your user name is added to the list, or the Users group is present and that Full Control is selected. Click OK and install. Now the 1309 error points to c:\Config\Config.Msi\126577.rbf needing permission. Sounds questionable to me. Is this right? And if it is right, Who do I give permission to & What permissions?I have Windows VistaAdobe Reader version 10.1.4 I https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1050242 have the same question Show 0 Likes(0) 2102Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Re: 1309 error in reinstalling Adobe Reader AbhigyanModi Aug 15, 2012 11:16 PM (in response to sjdorn) One reason this comes up is because of conflict with a backup or virus scan software. If tehy are running on the machine, try disabling those temporarily before applying the update. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 3. Now after running the patch, Windows Installer continuously tries to configure my app when I run it, and loops over and over and over with the message: Error 1309.Error reading from file: (file name). Verify that the file exists and that you have access to it. This error # doesn't exist in the Error Central @ Installshield... what's going on here? Reply With Quote 02-18-2003,02:09 PM #2 dredge Guest so, according to the other 1309 posts that i've read, this is because of "web cache". problem here, is that i don't have web cache turned on. I've got v3.1.1 of my app, which is "CDROM" package type. And I've got v3.2.0 of my app, which is also "CDROM" package type. I've created a different "package" code - and left the Upgrade and Product codes the same. I'm doing everything that I think I'm supposed to be doing for a "minor upgrade" of the app.... and when I try to run the patch between 3.1.1 to 3.2.0, it runs fine and replaces the files fine... but then when I try to run the app on my machine, it goes through the "configuring ..." windows installer screens and then gives me the 1309 errors. help? anyone?
