Ive been looking for info on this 1311 error message, and its widely commented. The main cause would be Norton Antivirus that prevents installing. But disabling it, doesnt help me. What can I do? Many thx! 18Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Show 7 replies 1. Re: J2SE50 - error 1311 on installation 796365 Feb 3, 2005 7:37 PM (in response to 843798) Were you installing using the online installer? If so, try again using the offline version, as it downloads a full up-to-date Microsoft Installer package. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Re: J2SE50 - error 1311 on installation 843798 Feb 3, 2005 7:53 PM (in response to 796365) I was indeed trying the online installation (plugin for Mozilla Firefox). Even when I tried to manually download the installation package, the server didnt reply. Is there an alternative to download this package? Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 3. Re: J2SE50 - error 1311 on installation 796365 Feb 3, 2005 8:30 PM (in response to 843798) No, the stuff you see is it. Are you saying that Sun's website would not download the (rather large, about 40 mb) offline package? It's just an exe file that when clicked, installs Java. If the d/l fails using FF, try IE. Ther's been no problems getting the d/l, afaik. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 4. cause errors in the file (corrupt the file) so you can't work with it, or prevent you from using a feature. Unlike other errors, j2se runtime environment 5.0 update 17 problems don't typically cause Windows or a program to stop working. So this j2se runtime environment jre can occur if you are running two software programs that aren't compatible, if your computer has memory problems, or if the computer has been infected with malicious software. If java j2se runtime environment keeps occurring, follow these steps: 1. Install the latest updates for Windows and for the program displaying j2se runtime environment 5.0 https://community.oracle.com/thread/1244489?start=0& update 6. Note that the update for the program might be listed as an optional update on the Windows Update page. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update. For more information about Windows Update, see Install Windows updates in Windows 7. 2. Check Action Center for a solution http://j2se.runtime.environment.error.1311.wintechpro.org/ to the program displaying the environment error. When you have Windows Error Reporting turned on and a program stops working, a problem report is typically sent to Microsoft for more analysis. If a solution is available, or there are steps you can take to minimize the likelihood of the problem recurring, they'll be available in Action Center. Open Action Center by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, and then, under System and Security, clicking Review your computer's status. 3. Update and run your antivirus software. Windows doesn't come with antivirus software, but Action Center can often monitor the antivirus software that you or your computer manufacturer have installed. Open Action Center by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, and then, under System and Security, clicking Review your computer's status. 4. Make sure your computer has at least the minimum amount of random access memory (RAM) required to run the program that is displaying the error. Look for the program requirements online or in the packaging information. To learn more about computer memory, see View your computer information.   Steps To Follow To Fix Oracle Cannot Runtime Java From Environment Loaded Be The Press Ctrl+Alt+Del on your

The error I got was 1311, I have cleaned the cache. Tried to remove the old Java (J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 update 6) but it says it cannot be found! Still show's when I go to control panel and add/delete progams list. I am pulling my hair out. Not computer savvy and I need major help. Most error 1311 things on the internet do not display and almost everything says error's on page. When I go to Sun and try to run the Java update it says it downloaded and is working properly and that is not the case at all. HELP! I'd be very surprised if problems with Sun Java were stopping 'most things' from displaying as it isn't that commonly used and many people manage perfectly well without it. It is much more likely to be a problem with JavaScript and/or your browser settings or some third party tool stopping JS from working. Go here; http://www.javatester.org/ with every browser you have. Clicking on the box at the top of the page should indicate which version of Sun Java is currently installed while clicking on the orange 'Java Enabled?' box should confirm if it's working.
