In our case, the customer said they tried to uninstall the original version first. It failed for some reason but the product disappeared from the Control Panel list of programs. They then installed the update which triggered this error but installed successfully. However, it doesn't appear on the Control Panel list of programs, so we're not sure how it can be uninstalled. Would like to have a clean uninstall to reset the user's machine. We haven't had reports of this from other customers. Any insight or solution would be appreciated. Thanks. Also, I can not remove old palm desk software without receiving this message. I think I did the original LD install improperly, though it worked fine until I tried to download music, which led to the 2.0 update. I don't think I ever had the LD manager icon on the lower right. Can this be fixed? Thank you, billg billg, Jan 13, 2006 #1 billg Mobile Enthusiast Messages: 9 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 1 I need to add more info. It is not the 2.0 update that I am having a problem with. It is the software CD that updates the palm desktop and comes in the LifeDrive package. It seems the LD was running fine on the old palm desktop until I tried to add music and run the update 2.0. It works now like before but I still do not have an LD manager on my pc and the pc does not install the LifeDrive software from the CD, nor does it remove the old palm software. Both situations end with the same error 1316 message. I hope this is useful towards a solution. Thank you, billg billg, Jan 13, 2006 #2 billg Mobile Enthusiast Messages: 9 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 1 I found the answer from 12-25 thread, LifeDrive installation problems. I still am unable to download music; insufficient rights. billg, Jan 13, 2006 #3 (You must log in or sign up to reply here.) Show Ignored Content Thread Status: Not open for further replies.
