am having an issue installing spyware on my home pc. I installed at work and it worked perfectly. I keep getting an error 1327 telling me I have an invalid e drive. I was http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/installing-getting-error-1327-invaild-e-drive.1701921/ using an external hard drive at one point, but it is not connected at this time. Anyone else having this issue?? >. > Noah, Feb 16, 2005 #2 Advertisements Brad Guest I have encountered this problem this morning as well when trying to install spyware software. My error referred to drive b: which made me suspicious, error 1327 invalid becuase some time ago, I had a mapped drive called B:\ to one of my network folders. I no longer use this drive, and have since deleted the mapping, however, forgot that at the time I had changed the default path for Internet Explorer Favorites to B:\favorites (requires change in registry). When installer loads for spyware software it must query this path, and in my case found that it doesn't exist. A simple change to the registry fixed this problem for me in no time. [HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Use r Shell Folders] Set the Favorites path to : %USERPROFILE%\Favorites The above should be a REG_EXPAND_SZ value, not REG_SZ Using the "Find" command in the registry editor I also found several other references to B:\ that I had overlooked and fixed these up as well. Although it was definitely the favorites folder that caused my spyware installation problem. Brad >-----Original Message----- >I have the same problem. have followed the tips on how to resolve this issue from Adobe's help and FAQ pages, but I am still not able to download Adobe reader. This issue begun short while after I installed a Tuneup software from AVG. I contacted this Tuneup company, and one of it's representative guided me through the steps on how to resolve the problem; unfortunately, the correction attempt did not make any difference. Adobe tech support team can fix my issue, but at a cost of $ 40. I do not want to pay it. Hence, I am trying to solve this problem myself. Could any one, who has the knowledge to deal with this issue, please respond to my request? Thank you in advance for your assistance. I look forward to hearing from you.
