Office 2003 Error 1327
Microsoft Office / "Error 1327 Invalid drive" when installing Office 2003 Problem When installing Microsoft Office from your hard drive you get the following message: “Error 1327 invalid drive D:\” error 1327 invalid drive The drive letter may be different from what is stated above. Solution Click the invalid definition Start button. (Windows XP users should then click Run) Type regedit and press Enter. In the Registry Editor go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE ->Software -> Microsoft -> Office -> 11.0 -> Delivery Located in this folder there will be 1 or more subfolders, click on each subfolder and look for LocalCacheDrive. Right click on LocalCacheDrive and click Modify. Change the D (or whatever letter appears in the error) to the letter of the drive you are installing from (e.g. C). Close the Registry Editor and try installing Office again. Now when installing, it may say that it can’t find a ".cab" file. If that happens: Click OK and it will bring up a box to search for the file. In the Path box, change the drive letter to the same letter as the drive you are installing from and click OK. I modified it from F to C (I don't have an F drive). Office patches went through on the retry without error. Thank you! Reply cj March 28, 2015 at 19:46 work like a charm--many thanks Reply Githecha August 31, 2015 at 10:02 I went to device manager> disk management and changed the CD ROM drive to the drive letter indicated by the error and it worked OK.
