Adobe Error 1406 Could Not Write Value To Key
2009 9:06 AM by Rigel_1942 Error 1406 (Amanda_Gor) Mar 21, 2008 11:34 AM I've tried to download Adobe Reader 8.1.2 numerous times and ways now, but it keeps coming up with the same message; Error error 1406 windows 7 1406. Could not write value installed to key \SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ OptionalComponents\MSFS. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel. I have Windows Vista on my laptop, and used to have an older version of Adobe Reader until I decided to update it and in turn erased the old file and the new one is not installing correctly. I went through the various solutions; taking down adobe reader error 1402 could not open key my firewall, downloading the Acrobat ACL repair utility, and I just can't figure out how to get it to install. Thank you for your time. AG 7394Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Show 15 replies 1. Re: Error 1406 (Aandi_Inston) Mar 22, 2008 12:23 AM (in response to (Amanda_Gor)) You need to check the permissions in your registry. If you aren't completely comfortable with your registry, and if you don't know how to recover if changing the registry breaks your machine leaving you unable to boot, get an expert to help. So how do I check the permissions on my registry? Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 3. Re: Error 1406 (Amanda_Gor) Mar 30, 2008 6:58 PM (in response to (Amanda_Gor)) So I sent my computer in to get the registry updated, but in the end could not get it fixed by the computer service repairman. Is there anything I can do about it if the repairman couldn't get my registry updated? Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 4. Re: Error 1406 Nemuri13 Mar 31, 2008 7:32 AM
