I have tried amending registry, cleaning up old files, allowing registry full permission etc. as available on online forums. But nothing seems to be working. 1406 on Windows XP, Windows Vista > Windows 7 machine Give permission to Following registry Keys: Start > Run > regedit and navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Components HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components How to give permission to the registry Key.
