Could not access network location "filepath". Note the error and type this in a Web browser: http://www.quickbooks.com/support/install.html here is the actual article: http://www.quickbooks.com/helpcenter...?kbID=8b6503f9 BTW, the filepath is to an old server. there https://community.intuit.com/articles/1019823-error-1606-could-not-access-network-location is no "browse" option to change the file path. there is only one license with two users sharing it. the other QuickBooks user is not having any problems. OK, so i go to the specified website and applied the following trouble shooting tips. basically the instructions were for me to install QuickBooks again. i would get the exact same error message again. http://www.forums.quickbooksusers.com/showthread.php?p=76075 then i tried to uninstall QuickBooks and i would get the same exact error message again. then i manually downloaded the update, saved to desktop and when i try to run the update, i would get the same exact error message again. any ideas? thanks in advance. joebu8 View Public Profile Find all posts by joebu8 #2 11-14-2006, 11:04 AM Joe Williams Registered User Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Oklahoma Posts: 9,327 When you tried to install QuickBooks, choose a new folder on the C: drive, DO NOT try to install it the server from that PC. QuickBooks MUST be installed on the local PC and then the folder MUST NOT be renamed. To prevent the installer from seeing the network, you can unplug the network cable before installing. Also check the number of files in the root directory. There is a limited number of names allowed in the root directory __________________ Joe Williams joewilliams@wavelinx.net Piedmont, Ok Last edited by Joe Williams; 11-14-2006 at 11:07 AM.
