I have several Windows user accounts on my home PC (Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit). I moved the "My Documents" and "Desktop" folders ("personal folders") to an alternate location for better backup managability. I used the Windows "Move Location" https://forums.adobe.com/thread/622679 functionality to do so.When Adobe Reader tries to run an update, it fails and tells me to run Adobe Repair. So I went to the Windows Control Panel, right-clicked on Adobe Reader and chose "Change". I get the following errors:I tried the following three seperate solutions (none worked): 1. Reinstalling Adobe 2. I completely deleted and recreated the "problemed" Windows account 3. Per an Adobe KB article, I created a brand new Windows user account with administrative rights and reinstalled Adobe Reader under that loginIs there no way to move my personal folders without triggering this bug? As you can see, I have spent a lot of time working on this. Can you hear the frustration? Thanks so much!!!Eliezer I have the same question Show 0 Likes(0) 6361Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Show 4 replies 1. Steps: 1. Type regedit in the Run box to open the registry editor. 2. Now navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Current Version -> Explorer -> User Shell Folders error 1606 could 3. Locate the key named “Recent” in the right side and delete it by right clicking on it. 4. Windows may require a restart. The problem would have gone but if it hasn’t then have a look at these MS articles.
