We have to use the x86 version of Java on our x64 Win7 machines. I extracted the MSI the same way I always did with 7uXX, opened Orca, edited the http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/595197/java-wont-install-on-my-windows-10-machine/ properties tab to keep it from rebooting and updating, saved the transform. Then I tried installing using the MSI and I get the following: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A error 1721 program required for this install to complete could not be run." Looking in Event Viewer I see it gives the Error 1721: A program required for this install to complete could not be run. One thing I did notice when I initially ran the original exe file that I've never seen before is created in the "%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java" folder called "JAVA_INSTALL_FLAG" with 0KB size and I can't copy it error 1721 windows because it's "in use". Also, I've noticed that when you open the jre1.8.0_45 folder, it no longer has a CAB file like 7uXX did. It's just the MSI now. I've searched around, but nothing really comes up for 1721 errors. I almost think u45 is different than u25 (most postings are for this version) as everyone was saying that the properties tab when creating the transform still had all the same options, yet u45 doesn't. It's missing JU and LAUNCHBROWSER. Anyone else come up with a solution for 1721 after a transform has been created? I create the transform because I use MDT/WDS imaging process to install all my base applications to my image. Java won't Install on my Windows 10 Machine Started by sonicboom282 , Nov 03 2015 03:53 AM Please log in to reply 13 replies to this topic #1 sonicboom282 sonicboom282 Members 6 posts OFFLINE Local time:07:27 AM Posted 03 November 2015 - 03:53 AM Hello there! I've been having a very frustrating issue with installing Java on my (fairly) new Windows 10 64-bit machine, and any assistance in this matter would be so very much appreciated. I've searched all over, and posted in several tech forums searching for help, all to no avail. So any help or suggestions at all are welcome, and I am so grateful for them. On my previous version of Windows (Windows 7 64-bit), I had Java (32 bit and 64 bit) installed, and it worked perfectly. However, I can not for the life of me get it to install on my current machine, no matter what I do, and I have spent the better part of a week trying to find someone who's having the same issues I am, or fix the problem myself, both to no avail. So I turn to the experts on this forum. To describe my problem in much greater detail: I downloaded the offline installer f
