When I try to create a new daily backup task, I receive the error "Error #1722 - "the RPC server is unavailable. (0xFFF0)" When I go to "Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services" I error 1722 the rpc server is unavailable server 2012 do not see anything named that starts with "Acronis" So I followed this post: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=146368 "- Download the http://download.acronis.com/support/schedmgr.exe file; - Start the Command Prompt from Start -> Programs -> Accessories menu; - Run the following command in the folder you saved the file to: schedmgr.exe service start" and then I received this error: "service start Error: 1060 (0x424) - Service does not exist" I had an old version of Acronis installed, I uninstalled that one, as well as followed the procedues to uninstall SnapAPI -> http://kb.acronis.com/content/1620 What's my next step? Should I start over? I noticed whenever I uninstall/reinstall Acronis I always get a BSOD, I'm really scared this program is just going to completely screw up my system if I keep trying to get it working.. Any other ideas greatly appreciated. Reports: · Posted 5 years ago Top tfp2 Posts: 8 This post has been reported. Actual issue was Acronis schedhlp.exe & schedul2.exe were not installed. Here's the fix that worked for me: Please do the following: 1. Make sure that Acronis Scheduler 2 Service (Administrative Tools -> Services) Startup type is set to Automatic in Properties. If it is not so, make it so. 2. If the above does not help, run the schedhlp.exe and schedul2.exe manually in Windows Task Manager (File -> New Task) or do the following: - Download and unpack this archive; - Please run schedmgr.exe application; - Issue following commands: service stop service uninstall - Close schedmgr; - Please replace schedhlp.exe and schedul2.exe files in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\Schedule2 folder with the files from this archive - Please run schedmgr.exe application again; - Issue following commands: service install service start - Close schedmgr; Thank you. -- enable Acronis Sched2.exe, sched.exe Reports: · Posted 5 years ago Top Topic Closed This topic has been closed to new replies. You may find that you have to do it once again that way, also be sure to record the license key for True Home 10. Here's another post about it where the user had to manually start the Acronis Scheduler2 Service http://www.wilderssecurity.com/archive/index.php/t-114543.html and was then able to run a backup. Byteman, Jan 4, 2011 #2 Noyb Trusted Advisor Joined: May 25, 2005 Messages: 19,984 I had (sometimes have) the same problem .. It's due to the fact I usually shut down some of the Acronis Startups .. As Byteman pointed to. Usually, I remove Acronis and run from the Acronis Boot CD .. Then I don't have to worry about it. Since I don't do scheduling .. It doesn't need to be installed and you can do almost anything with the Boot CD.
