minutes. Join Now One of my branch domain controllers, SINGAPOREDC is not replicating error 1722 the rpc server is unavailable windows 2008 r2 with its replication partner in our data center, CENTRALDC-02. I discovered the issue when I noticed an updated file in

the netlogon folder was not updating everywhere. It seems to be just this one branch server. Other branch domain controllers that replicate with CENTRALDC-02 are fine. On SINGAPOREDC, the RpcSs.exe is listening https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/replication-error-1722-the-rpc-server-is-unavailable(v=ws.10).aspx on TCP port 135. It is open in the firewall, and querying the port returns that it is listening. It's also listening on ports 389, 3268, and 3269. Performing a dcdiag /test:replications on SINGAPOREDC shows errors 1256 (The remote system is not available) and 1722 (The RPC server is unavailable) replicating from the central DC to the branch DC. No errors running this on the central https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/653215-replication-problem-rpc-server-unavailable-error-1722 DC. Performing repadmin /replsummary also shows error 1722, with 4 fails out of 5 attempts. I have rebooted both of these DCs. The RPC service is running. It appears to have all of its DNS records in place. Forcing a replication via Sites & Services sometimes throws an error saying it can't communicate with the server. Performing dcdiag /test:dns /v /e on SINGAPOREDC gives many errors, as shown below. Note that while it fails communicating with some domain controllers, it passes for others. Got this error for several but not all domain controllers. errors then repadmin /replsum works fine. I have forest level 2008 R2 with http://www.networksteve.com/forum/topic.php/RPC_service_unavailable_error_1722_running_repadmin_/replsum/?TopicId=51976&Posts=6 Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 2012 core and Windows 2012 http://www.virtuallyimpossible.co.uk/when-good-domain-controllers-go-bad/ R2 servers running as DCs in five different locations and different subnets. March 16th, 2015 9:44pm I would recommend that you start with that especially the IP setting recommendations: http://www.ahmedmalek.com/web/fr/articles.asp?artid=23 I also recommend that you dcdiag to check that your error 1722 DCs are in healthy state. See also that:https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/8b62cd08-65c1-49e7-9919-881f6ff5a105/the-rpc-server-is-unavailableerror-1722?forum=winserverDS You might want to temporary disable security software running on your DCs for te Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now March 17th, 2015 5:43am Hi, I would agree with Ahmed MALEK. RPC error 1722 / 0x6ba / RPC_S_SERVER_UNAVAILABLE error 1722 the is logged when a lower layer protocol reports a connectivity failure. The common case is that the abstract TCP CONNECT operation failed. In the context of AD replication, the RPC client on the destination DC was not able to successfully connect to the RPC server on the source DC. March 17th, 2015 9:57pm Hello, in addition assure that firewalls between DCsare open according to https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd772723(WS.10).aspx Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now March 18th, 2015 12:31pm Hi, I just want to confirm what is the current situation. March 19th, 2015 9:46pm I folllowedhttp://www.ahmedmalek.com/web/fr/articles.asp?artid=23, but continue to get 1722 errors when I run repadmin /replsum.
bad! 7 August 2012 by Adam Rush Scenario It's a pleasant day and all is well with the world. Colleagues are skipping around the office with smiles on faces…until…duh duh daaa! One by one, services start failing: Printers go offline: First, for Win7 users Then for all clients Can still print from server though File shares go offline Active Directory replication fails DNS console will not open Basically, your main Domain Controller (DC) has just taken a dump…and so have you! These are the steps I took to troubleshoot the issues and get everything back online. Solution Gather Information Run the following commands to gather useful information: ipconfig /all > c:\ipconfig.txt (from each DC/DNS Server) dcdiag /v /c /d /e /s: > c:\dcdiag.txt dcdiag /test:dns /s: /DnsBasic > c:\dcdiag-dnsbasic.txt repadmin /showrepl dc* /verbose /all /intersite > c:\showrepl.txt (dc* is a placeholder for the starting name of the DCs if they all begin the same - if more then one DC exists) repadmin /replsum > c:\replsum.txt Pour through the txt files and note down the errors. Some of mine included: repadmin /showrepl Last error: 1256 (0x4e8): The remote system is not available. Last error: 5 (0x5): Access is denied. WARNING: KCC could not add this REPLICA LINK due to error. result 1722 (0x6ba): The RPC server is unavailable. repadmin /replsum (1722) The RPC server is unavailable. (5) Access is denied. dcdiag /test:dns /s: /DnsBasic The host
