Back to top #2 LS CalamityJane LS CalamityJane Former Lavasoft Staff Members 8814 posts Posted 15 May 2008 - 08:34 PM Yes, it is a problem with the Windows Installer and usually those steps will resolve it, but in some cases it might be some other problem so after searching a bit I ran across one use who found that the Sun http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?/topic/18119-error-1722-during-install/ Java runtime environment was the problem. Could you look and see what is installed from Sun Java on your computer. Go to Start / Control Panel and look in Add/Remove programs. They will appear in the "J's" something similar to: j2re1.4.2_05 or JAVA 2 RUNTIME ENVIROMENT SE V1.4.2_03 JAVA 2 RUNTIME ENVIROMENT SE V.14.2_06 (or similar, and there may be more than one.) Can you look and let me know what you see there? Also, sometimes other security programs may affect the installation. What other Antispyware/Antivirus/ Security related programs are you running? Solved Error 1722: Cannot install Ad-Aware 2007 Posted on 2008-04-15 Installation Anti-Spyware Windows XP 1 Verified Solution 8 Comments 1,561 Views Last Modified: 2013-11-14 I successfully installed AA 2007 the other day but could not uninstall a previous version of the software. I then uninstalled AA 2007. This resulted in my getting the following error message on computer startup: "lsdelete program cannot be found -- skipping AUTOCHECK." I searched the Internet for fixes, and found one that worked. I also worked with Lavasoft tech support to help with the uninstall problem. I now have uninstalled the old version of Ad-Aware and fixed the start-up error message. However, when I try to re-install Ad-Aware 2007, I keep getting an Error 1722 message that aborts the install. I have tried everything that Lavasoft tech support has suggested, including re-installing the MSI package, deleting various folder, and disabling security software. In the meantime, I have been able to successfully install an upgrade to another application. But I still can't install AA 2007 -- even though I was able to do so previously. Lavasoft has no more suggestions. I have searched EE for answers, but can't seem to find anything that applies to my particular situation. Can someone help? Thanks. 0 Question by:karenram Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 1 Best Solution byDocMediaGroup this is caused by a registry error the CSID keys are still in the registry the eaisest way to fix this is to START---RUN---REGEDIT THEN USE F3 TO FIND : ADAWARE DELETE ANY REGISTRY KEYS FROM Go to Solution 7 Comments LVL 30 Overall: Level 30 Windows XP 29 Anti-Spyware 3 Message Expert Comment by:flubbster2008-04-15 Question... the other application you were able to install... was it a .msi installer, or a .exe?
