Itunes Restore Error 3194 & 2005 0 Howdy everyone, I've got a serious problem with my Ipad 1. 1) It's stuck at the apple logo upon restart. (This was the main problem) 2) Tried restoring from Itunes and was confronted with Error 3194 (irrespective whether I tried to restore to stock firmware or jailbroken firmwares) 3) Searched the net and saw most sites recommend removing gs.apple.com from the Hosts file. (I have never edited my hosts file and double checking it confirmed that I have no entry for gs.apple.com) 4) I have also tried https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3979188?start=0&tstart=0 using TU, but when I tried restoring from itunes with TSS Server running I got error 2005 instead. Can someone help me to restore my ipad?? I'm at wits end trying to resolve this problem. Thanks error2005 ios5.0.1 ipad error3194 asked 16 Apr '12, 00:21 Achilles72 41●1●1●3 To explain further attempts made trying to restore this Ipad: 5) Tried to restore and upgrade to 5.1 from itunes itself and got error 2005. (not manually download the ipsw) (16 Apr '12, 00:31) Achilles72 Latest attempt: http://www.jailbreakqa.com/questions/100443/itunes-restore-error-3194-2005 6) Tried using redsn0w_win_0.9.9b7, redsn0w_win_0.9.10b1, redsn0w_win_0.9.10b2 - Doesn't get very far. Seemed to be stuck at uploading stage 1. 7) Tried using redsn0w_win_0.9.10b5c with IOS 5.0.1. Redsn0w can upload all the 2 stages but stuck at waiting for device to start. On my Ipad, it remained blank as if its still on DFU mode which it is not. (16 Apr '12, 03:16) Achilles72 Right! I'm not quite sure what I did but I seemed to have gotten rid of error 3194 and 2005 during my attempt to restore my Ipad 1. Unfortunately a new set of error code came up. I'm left with error 1602 now. Here are my attempts when I got that 1602 error: i - I placed my Ipad in DFU mode ii - Connect my Ipad to my PC (running windows vista) iii - Start up Itunes (I've reinstall the latest version - 10.6) iv - Itunes detect my Ipad in recovery mode. v - I clicked on "Restore" and Itunes verify it with Apple server (1 time) vi - Then Itunes prepared my Ipad for restore vii - Then it attempt to verify it with apple once more (2nd. time) viii - This is when I noticed that my Ipad tries to come out of DFU mode. It remained blank screen but the backlight lighted up as if its going to start but the apple logo never comes up and it just hangs there. ix - A couple of minutes later Itunes prJailbreak Developers iPhone Dev Team Saurik MuscleNerd Planetbeing Comex Pod2G P0sixNinja i0n1c iH8Sn0w GeoHot NotCom Jailbreak Guides iPhone Jailbreak Tutorials Jailbreak iPod Touch Jailbreaking Explained Cydia Jailbreak Software Sn0wbreeze Absinthe Blackra1n LimeRa1n JailbreakM Redsn0w Greenpois0n PwnageTool Seas0nPass http://jaxov.com/2011/08/how-to-resolve-itunes-error-3194-fix-infinite-dfu-loops/ iPhone Unlock Unlock iPhone Unlock iPhone 3Gs Unlock iPhone 4 Unlock iPhone 4s Ultrasn0w News http://osxdaily.com/2011/10/27/manually-update-or-restore-ios-5/ IOS Wiki How-To Resolve iTunes Error 3194 & Fix Infinite DFU Loops?By Ben Johnson last updated July 10, 2014 Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Facebook Share on LinkedIn Recently, many of our readers have been reporting about iTunes erroring out with the 3194 error code while they try to restore/update their iOS via iTunes. Also, error 2005 many a times, readers have ended up in an infinite DFU loop inspite of a successful restore. So rather than explaining to each one what this is all this about, I have put up this informative article that will help you understand & resolve these issues in future. What's Error 3194 All About?Inspite of my fellow colleague Tikes's simple yet extensive post here at Jaxov, people still seem to have a hard time trying to resolve error 2005 iphone the 3194 error. In short, this error code has anything and everything to do with the SHSH blobs saved for your device. May it had been saved via Cydia or via TinyUmbrella, SHSH blobs are always a necessity if you ever plan to update/restore your iOS to any version other that the latest available version pushed out by Apple OTA. For a much more detailed explanation about the SHSH, I would suggest you to read Tike's post first & get back.DFU Loops After A Successful Restore from iTunesDFU loops occur inspite of a successful restore from iTunes simply because of invalid SHSH blobs. You must know by now that Cydia is no longer able to proxy your SHSH blobs reliably if you were to use Tiny Umbrella for your SHSH saves. If you were able to boot your device by using Redsn0w's tethered boot option, once your device is unhooked or rebooted, its back to the loop. This is because the iPhone's bootrom places an explicit check for a valid SHSH & when it doesn't find one, your put into a DFU loop. Without a valid SHSH blob, you cannot expect it boot untethered now can you? (All tethered jailbreaks do not have an SHSH)PrerequisitesCheck for Saved SHSH Blobs first: You can restore/upgrade to an iOS version ONLY with the help of a
In some cases this is user caused (error 3194 is easy to fix as is error 3200 & 3002), but if you're continuing to have issues it could be related to a firewall or a handful of other causes. For those cases, here's another approach to manually update to iOS 5. Basically you just throw the downloaded IPSW file into the default IPSW location and have iTunes update without downloading, this seems to work for nearly everyone encountering problems. Manually Update to iOS 5 The directions are going to be the same for Windows and Mac OS X users with the exception of where the files are stored: Using Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, download iOS 5 IPSW for your device, and choose "Save As" when you download the file, saving it somewhere easy to find like the desktop Quit iTunes Disconnect your iOS device from the computer Copy the previously downloaded IPSW file to one of the following locations, depending on your desktop OS: For Windows Go to the Start menu, choose Computer, Local disk, enter the following path: c:\Users\NAME\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\ Now you are looking for a directory like "iPhone Software Updates" - this is device dependent so it could be "iPad Software Updates" or "iPod Software Updates" on your PC Delete existing iOS 5 .ipsw files from this folder and copy over the version you downloaded For Mac OS X From the Mac desktop, hit Command+Shift+G and type the following path: ~/Library/iTunes/ If you're updating an iPhone, the folder will be named "iPhone Software Updates", iPad will be "iPad Software Updates" and so on, open this folder Move the previously downloaded iOS 5 IPSW file into this folder For Everyone Now relaunch iTunes, choose your device from the left side, and click on "Check for Update" to use the new IPSW without re-downloading This should work without any of the unknown errors because the file no longer has to be downloaded from Apple's servers.
