I adjusted the http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r10528883-Cisco-Systems-VPN-Client firewall settings, I tried turning off the firewall. I uninstalled and then reinstalled the VPN software. Only when I uninstalled OneCare did it work again. I get the error message "The error 201 necessary VPN sub-system is not available. You cannot connect to the remote VPN server." How can I fix this? Friday, August 15, 2008 3:50 AM Answers 0 Sign in to vote Since you didn't identify the VPN software you are using, I can only tell you that I suspect that you are using one of the products that will not work with error 201 necessary OneCare due to the way the VPN software installs itself and manages the network stack and the way OneCare's firewall works with the network stack. -steve Friday, August 15, 2008 1:59 PM Moderator All replies 0 Sign in to vote Since you didn't identify the VPN software you are using, I can only tell you that I suspect that you are using one of the products that will not work with OneCare due to the way the VPN software installs itself and manages the network stack and the way OneCare's firewall works with the network stack. -steve Friday, August 15, 2008 1:59 PM Moderator 0 Sign in to vote I believe it is Fiberlink. You can try it, but some VPN software won't work at all with OneCare installed. I

You can not connect to the remote VPN server, when trying to help someone connect to their work with the application Cisco Systems VPN Client Version 4.0.3 (A)I looked online and found what the error meant and did exactly what it said. For example I found that exact error message at Cisco's website and I did exactly what they said but it still did not fix the problem.I even looked on dslreports and found one topic about this but it didn't fix the problem when I tried the solution. The other thing they were talking about though in there with not using the Cisco program, I believe, instead I have no idea what that was about.Any help is very appreciated. The VPN Client can be buggy at times. Does it like cycle over and over negotiating IPSec link and then finally pop up this error? · actions · 2004-Jun-16 7:37 pm · 90115534 (banned)Someone is sabotaging me.Finding out w
