I was shooting and sharing video of my daughter from this phone just fine, then the new Mac Quicktime updates invalid sample description mp4 fix and I can't watch any of them....very disappointing and frustrating! I have a PPC 6700, and now I can't view movies I created with it in mp4. If change extension file to 3GP video works just fine.Also, when I try to see a webpage with a Quicktime video clip, I only get a Quicktime logo with a big question mark in it, but no play.I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but nothing seems to work.I have Windows XP, and it worked fine until a couple weeks ago. I https://trac.ffmpeg.org/ticket/406 had just given up on MediaCoder and decided to use Videora ipod converter just for kicks to see if would output a working file. I already had Videora installed. The first file I ran through Videora worked but was 5 times the size of the original file. I wanted to see what the difference was between the file Videora output and the files I was getting with MediaCoder. I error 2041 opened the Videora file with MediaCoder to see what the properties of the working file were. I also opened the non-working MediaCoder file and saw the differences were with video bitrate and frame rate and audio encoder. I changed the video settings to match what the working file had and re-encoded my original file. It didn't work either. I changed the audio from mp3 to mpeg-4 AAC LC with the FAAC encoder and the output file plays in Quicktime without a hitch. And it was the same invalid sample description size as my original file. I hope this helps those of you that have the same problem I had. Now I can easily convert my videos to work on my touch and play in windows. Thanks. I encountered that error first rattle outta th' box. It does work and my converts are readily accepted and played by QT. I figured that there must be some way other than adding codecs to my machine. The command line I used was: ffmpeg -i "input.mp4" -y -acodec libmp3lame -vn "output.mp4" No errors were displayed while encoding. I'm using version git-41bf67d built on 2011-08-16 mp3 should be accepted in a .mp4 container and QuickTime? should be able to play it back, so I believe this is an FFmpeg bug.
