Nothing has changed on the networks or the pc settings it simply stopped working. I kyocera error 1101 set this up everyday, but these to pc are being a pain. Any ideas why these pcs would randomly stop working?Posts: 54|Registered: March 13, 2012 IP Jomama46Senior Member posted November 14, 2012 08:12 AMHide PostSwitch the patch https://stavola.wordpress.com/2011/03/30/kyocera-smb-error-2101/ cable? If they are using DHCP and you are using IP address, then when the machine reboots very possible that its pulling a different IP address. But most of the 2101 errors we have seen are related to DNS/IP http://dnet-km.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/6716013712/m/4663907577 Address/Hostname issues. Other issue could be port 139 is shutdown at the firewall on that PC? Could be using 445. But you mentioned this was a large network so you would probably see other issues versus this one PC.Posts: 177|Registered: June 30, 2009 IP Ignored post by Frozentundra posted November 14, 2012 09:24 AMShow PostkrotyFull Member posted November 14, 2012 02:06 PMHide PostOK. I changed the port number from 139 to 140 and it started working on 1 of the pcs. Didn't tryit on the other customer yet. Could anyone explain why this works and what other port numbers can be used?Posts: 54|Registered: March 13, 2012 IP Ignored post by kroty posted November 14, 2012 02:06 PMShow Post FrozentundraSenior Member posted November 15, 2012 09:36 AMHide PostTechnically you could use any port number not in use and not blocked by the firewall. However if you use a port number usually reserved for another function and the software goes to install and finds that port number already in use it may error out for the customer. The first 1000 port numbers are generally reserved for certain functions like port 25 is generally reserved for SMTP, 80 for HTTP, 110 for POP3, 389 for LDAP, and so on. Here is a list of 'common port numbers' and their use, http://media.packetlife.net/me.../23/common_ports.pdf. My guess is if you look in t

I have a Kyocera CS 3050ci https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/462515-kyocera-cs-3050ci-scan-to-email-error-but-it-still-wok configured to scan to email using a local Exchange server. The thing works fine except http://printcopy.info/?l=en&mod=erc&brand=Kyocera-Mita&model=TASKalfa%204500i&code=2101 on a few occasions when it prints out an error that says "Error Type : Transfer" with no real details about the error. The funny thing is that the scan to email job sends through just fine. Has anyone seen this behavior before? Do you have a fix? We've ignored the error mostly, but it happens frequently enough that it's an annoyance error 2101 (and waste of paper). For some reason Kyocera decided to not print that on the error kyocera send error sheet that prints out. Most likely the Server is responding with a message the Kyocera is interpreting as an error. Does it seem to matter if its an internal or external email address when the error occurs? 3 Poblano OP finalbowser Mar 24, 2014 at 8:30 UTC Gold Key Technology Solutions is an IT service provider.
