Developers > Access for Developers Question 0 Sign in to vote Hi all, In a solution I'vd made in Access2007, I have a front-end that connects to several accdb's back-end. I have some issues: - How to know at some point wich connections are alive ? - In a "best pratice" way, what is the best strategy: (i) To open error 2147467259 odbc the connection and use it across the various programs or (ii) To open and close the connection just for read and write operations ? The problem is that very often the users get the -2147467259 error with differents descriptions, and when the error handler code try to get it right, the error with E_FAIL status close and open again" message pop-up. I don't know how you are coding your ADO connections or why you are using this method, but when you rea

I used the 32bit ODBC datasource program to generate a DSN file. The code works just fine when I run the VI from labview, but when I build the program and run the executable, I get an error: ADO Error: 0x80004005 Exception occured in Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not exist or access denied. in NI_Database_API.lvlib:DB Tools Open https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Error-2147467259-DB-Tools-open-connection/td-p/3060626 Connec (String).vi->RecipeSelect.vi I created a UDL file with the labview "Create data link" tool and I still get the same error even though the VI runs fine. I have also tried a connection string. All the searches I have done on this error suggest a problem between 64bit and 32bit data sources. I've tried creating them both ways and still get the same error, yet the VI always runs fine on the same computer from labview. Any suggestions on what to try next? Thanks in advance. Solved! Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Password=password;Persist Security Info=True; User ID=UserID;InitialCatalog=DatabaseName;Data Source=ServerName ado error 2147467259 On most users computers the connection works, but some receive the error #: -2147467259. I have found that the computers that don’t work have Named Pipes as the default network library. Has anyone come across a similar problem and is there a way to specify in the connection string to use TCP/IP as the network library? You must also make sure the client has that capability installed. You can find out through the client configuration utility. -- Eric Dupuis - KratkaMVP@crosswinds.net Brainbench MVP for Visual Basic http://www.brainbench.com "phil kohler"
