I get an error that reads as follows: Error 22022: SQL Server Agent Error: The SQL Server Mail Session is not running; check the mail profile and/or the SQL Server Agent service start up account in the SQL Server Agent Properties dialog. I viewed the SQL Mail properties and it shows Start. Any Suggestions? Thanks, Denise Reply With Quote 10-22-2001,05:51 AM #2 David Guest SQL Mail Not Working (reply) Hi, Do you have a mail profile set-up on http://forums.databasejournal.com/showthread.php?15181-SQL-Mail-Not-Working the server. (MS Outlook or Exchange). If not, install MS Outlook. If so, right click on the Mail icon on the desktop on the server and select properties. Click on the Show Profiles button. What is the name of the profile that starts when using MS Outlook? It should be something like MS Exchange Settings. This profile must be for the Account that starts your SQL Services. If that account does not have a mail profile, log on as that account and create one. If it does have a mail profile, then THAT name (MS Exchange settings) must be the name in SQL mail (under support services), and also in SQL Agent (under management). Hope this helps... It is possible for it to test successfully, but not be in a state to send mail, or even be operating. You may wish to try restarting the service -HOWEVER- be careful! More often than not, I find that shutting down SQL mail just locks it up. I then have to restart SQL Agent, which is also likely to lock up. When I try to restart SQL Server, IT LOCKS UP. We've even had problems where the server failed to come back up on the first reboot. Be certain you are willing and able to physically reboot the server before shutting down SQL Agent. karlsd Starting Member 2 Posts Posted-07/26/2002: 14:49:18 i am getting the same exact error. Restarting the SQL Services only temporarly relieves the issue. After logging off and then back on the issue arrises again. I am seriously thinking that intalling Terminal Services is the cause of the issue. My email reports, I believe have discontinued since installing TS and they never worked on a different server that was initally installed with TS.
