Could be a case of Memory fragmentation. Try rebooting your machine once. Is this a 32 bit machine ? Whts the memory available ?. Can you check the output of "DBCC MemoryStatus" Also see this post http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/sqldatabaseengine/thread/1536b610-e548-40c1-b9d0-1be3ad19a823/ Rgds, Krishna Http://Blogs.SQLServer.in/ Marked as answer by algotube Wednesday, July 20, 2011 6:52 PM Wednesday, July 20, 2011 12:00 PM Reply | Quote All replies 2 Sign in to vote Hi Makesure that your MSSQL Server Agent is Running and check your MSDB Database having sufficient space.Nag Pal MCTS/MCITP (SQL Server 2005/2008) Tuesday, July 19, 2011 7:07 PM Reply | Quote 1 Sign in to vote Did you check this? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911841MCITP, MCTS, MCDBA,MCP Wednesday, July 20, 2011 1:56 AM Reply | Quote Moderator 0 Sign in to vote Can you just tell us if there are any more errors in the error logs. The reason for the message is that you http://forums.databasejournal.com/showthread.php?15023-Error-22022-Unable-to-post-notification-to-SQLServerAgent are trying to execute a SQL Agent Job whilst holding the mouse in your right hand. Clearly documented in Technet, when executing SQL Agent jobs, use the mouse with your left hand, only on a Tuesday, whilst facing south and holding only a cheese Pannini role in the right hand. Head must be not less than 12 inches from the screen otherwise you'll scare it. Hope this helps ------------ Jazz at 10/9/01 6:41:06 AM Dear All - The following message pops up when I try to execute SQL Agent Jobs - has anyone else seen this before, or know what it is ?? The job in question gives the below mentioned error when run Error 22022: Unable to post notification to SQL ServerAgent (reason: OpenFileMapping()returned error 2, 'The system cannot find the file specified') This seems to have started after I changed the owner for the Agent and MSSQL service from local service to a domain ID. FYI, I have also changed the job owner from sa to the domain ID and have tried restarting the agent service in the hope that the Job can speak to the agent .. but it doesnt Microsoft suggests to change some registry entries but I am not sure if that'd work http://support.microsoft.com/default...=rss&spid=2852 The server on which this job is hosted is a production box .. so am a litle apprehensive about making any registry changes Any Suggestions ? Thanks. Warm Regards, Ranjit. Reply With Quote 09-18-06,14:03 #2 RanjitSHans View Profile View Forum Posts Registered User Join Date May 2006 Posts 38 Hi people ... Getting no instant fixes to this issue, I changed the service owner back to local system ... But on doing so .. things took a bad turn and the agent got hung .. we had no option but to call for an emergency reboot .. That fixed the issue as the agents were set back to their usual settings. I am still hunting for a permanant solution on this.. so would appreciate any help on this. Thanks, Ranjit.
