Exchange 2007 Resource Rooms? Exchange Team Blog on Technet has thesolution! → Installing Office 2007 or 2010 keeps failing with error 2203 (Windows7) 01 Aug I was recurrently https://sadissa.wordpress.com/2011/08/01/installing-office-2007-or-2010-keeps-failing-with-error-2203-windows-7/ getting the following error when installing Office 2007 or 2010 on Windows 7: http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/internal-error-2203.1544125/ Error 2203. An Internal Error has occurred. (C:WindowsInstaller******.ipi - 2147287035 ) Contact Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS) for assistance. For information about how to contact PSS, see C:usersmy_userAppDataLocalTempSetup00000420PSS10R.CHM (The .ipi file being everytime different) Looking for a solution, I first found this link which suggested to restart Windows Installer service, and error 2203 give Full Control permission to “Everyone” on %TEMP% folder. Unfortunately for me, this never happen to solve my issue. I finally thought about Windows Clean Boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 . Here follow the steps I used to install correctly Office: 1. Click Start and type "msconfig.exe" in the Start Search box. Press Enter. 2. On the General tab, choose Selective Startup and clear the "Load Startup internal error 2203 Items" check box. 3. In the "Services" tab, check "Hide all Microsoft Services" and click disable all. 4. In the "Startup" tab, click "Disable all". 5. Click OK. 6. Restart the computer and try to install Office again. The installation should execute perfectly. 7. After the installation, go back to msconfig.exe and select “Normal startup”. This should also bring back all previous configurations in “Services” and “Startup” tabs. Like this:Like Loading... get a INTERNAL ERROR 2203. C:\windows\installer\xxxxx.ipi,_2147287035 The xxxxx are letters or numbers that change each time I try to install the software. This all started when I used the uninstall tools ( Rnav2003.exe and RNIS.EXE) I had Norton Internet Security Family Edition 2001 then I installed NIS 2003 the NIS 2001 still showed up in the ADD/REMOVE programs for one of the users setup to use the computer and I could not remove it, so I did a uninstall of NIS 2003 with the uninstalled provided, then I used the uninstalled tools mentioned above from Symantec to get rid of the NIS 2001. When I went to install NIS 2003 is when I got the Internal Error 2203 message. I did run the InstMSIW.exe and it stated it already exist. FYI, I am trying all this under administrator login. I did look at Microsoft article base # 324852 but this does not seem to be the cause of the problem. Any suggestions? Greg, Sep 14, 2003 #1 Advertisements Vinny Guest One of my users has also run into this "C:\windows\installer\xxxxx.ipi" craziness I was only able to provide a work-around (install the problem software as administrator) which won't work for you, sorry.
