An Internal Error Occurred" During Office 2010 Setup Unfortunately when installing Office 2010 error code 2203 uninstall not everything goes smoothly. Here is how to fix an Internal Error 2203 which we ran into during one installation of OneNote 2010. The Error We ran into the following error while trying to add https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2000547 OneNote to a current install of Office Professional Plus 2010 32-bit on a 64-bit version of Windows 7 Ultimate. It is actually a permissions error to the Temp folder and we need to give everyone access. The Fix First go into Services by typing services.msc into the Search box in the Start Menu and hit Enter. Scroll down to Windows Installer and Stop the service… Then restart it and close out http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/22095/fix-for-error-2203.-an-internal-error-occurred-during-office-2010-setup/ of the Services window. Now navigate to the Temp folder by typing %temp% into the Search box in the Start Menu and hit Enter. The Temp folder will open…right-click an empty area in the folder and select Properties. Select the Security tab and under the Group or user names box click on Edit. The Permissions for Temp window appears…click the Add button. Now type Everyone in the Objects Names box and click Check Names which will underline it as shown here then click OK. Now under Permissions for Everyone click the box to give it Full control and click OK. Now restart the Office application installation… Success! In this instance OneNote was installed successfully without any errors. For more information on this error check out the following page from Microsoft. I've been running Windows 10 Home on three systems since Nov. 2015. I have repeatedly run into this error when installing or even uninstalling software. I never received this error while running Windows 7. I have spent hours researching this, and believe it is a permission issue. Even though I have an administrator account on all of the systems, and have the UAC setting to "Never Notify", I got numerous notifications when copying/renaming/etc. files. I also got this error. I have gone into my "most used" folders and given myself full control permission. I did the same on my Windows "Installer" folder and user account "Temp" folder. This helped significantly! I still run into the Error 2203. I now found if I set the following registry value to "0" and reboot, I workaround the error: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System] "EnableLUA"=dword:00000000 However, I have to re-enable this after doing the install/uninstall that gave the error. Windows won't let me run Edge, etc. if this is set to "0". What's up with this error? I know have a workaround, but something isn't right. Thanks for any replies!
