Error 2738 Microsoft Fix It
Server 2010, I receive an 'Internal Error: 2738'. I have a 64-bit Server 2008 R2 machine. Any suggestions? The log file ends with this: Operation failed. Error code is 1603. I have looked up this error as well but all suggested fixes for this have failed (namely registering vbscript.dll. Not only does it need re-registered but the following reg key needs to be deleted. All is well, thanks! 1. I recommend installing to Windows Server 2008 or 2008 R2. ERROR: Internal Error 2738. This error message indicates that the VBScript engine is currently not registered on the machine where the install/uninstall is taking place.VBScript is a part of the Windows Script Host (WSH). The WSH is needed to identify or install certain VBScripts.These VBScripts may have been called during an install process which causes the MSI install to fail.
