I still want my custom action to run. My question is what condition do I need to make this happen? Does the component or custom action get this condition? Thanks in advance Reply With Quote 02-01-2010,12:24 PM #2 MichaelU View Profile View Forum Posts InstallShield Software Engineer Join Date Jan 2004 Location Schaumburg, IL Posts 4,683 This sounds a lot like http://community.installshield.com/s...d.php?t=191915 to me. Could you try changing the custom action type like described on that thread? Using the Custom Action wizard, we modified the existing custom action from Launching an executable "Installed with the product" to
' If another product is already installed on the target system, which has already installed this feature then this error appears. Looking in the log-file I see the following: 'The File 'file.exe' is not marked for installation'. This is correct, because https://community.flexerasoftware.com/showthread.php?192016-Error-2753-The-File-2-is-not-marked-for-installation this feature is already installed with the same version, so it shouldn't be installed again. In this case the custom action shouldn't be executed. I guess my condition is not sufficient. Question: how can I ask if this .exe http://community.installshield.com/printthread.php?t=125485&pp=40 is marked for installation or not and how can I use it in my Exec condition. Thanks in advance roland 11-03-2003, 07:00 AM rwinkler I solved the problem. It was quite easy. Instead of using a ca-type launch an exe -- installed with product I launch now the executable from a location linkby an entry from the directory table. So I have neither a problem if the .exe was already in the target directory nor if it is copied by the installation before. Roland All times are GMT -5. The time now is 10:18 PM.
