way we have been able to correct this is outlined here:http://www.eversity.nl/blog/2012/05/adobe-flash-player-install-error-2753-the-file-install ax64-exe-is-not-marked-for-installation/Our IS department wrote a .Net app that automates this process a bit, but it would be nice if the Adobe installer would detect and correct this error, as we push out Flash updates via GPO.Any takers on this?? Product: Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX -- Error 2753.The File 'FP_AX_MSI_INSTALLER.exe' is not marked for installation. or same as OP Product: Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX -- Error 2753.The File 'InstallAX.exe' is not marked for installation. Doesn't occur to all systems in our enviroment, and all prior versions appear to have been same. Error reoccurs if running the msi manually before and after uninstallation of prior version. However, upgrading from website or the upgrade notification apeears to work everytime. Answered 04/05
the Community! Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now I have unearthed an issue with Reader DC. One of my users has the app crash, won't stay running at all. I tried to uninstall reinstall and i get https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1150449-acrosup64-dll-is-not-marked-for-installation the aforementioned error. I used the Adobe Reader DC cleanup tool and install again. Still https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/27546583/Can't-uninstall-Adobe-Flash-Player-10-Active-X-Error-2753-The-File-'InstallAX-exe'-is-not-marked-for-installation.html "acrosup64.dll is not marked for installation". I'd like to deploy this but not if its going to break. grrr! I ran it from your link again just for kicks.Same Message. "Error 2753. The File 'acrosup64.dll' is not marked for installation." 0 Chipotle OP mdcarver Sep 3, 2015 at 1:31 UTC Still broken. I installed 11.10 not marked for on one computer and it crashes. 11.10 on my workstation flat out won't install gives the same error. Others I've been able to install 11 and it work fine. I've pulled DC from my GPO deployment for now until Adobe fixes this. It would be a lot simpler if Adobe would make an install for AD admins that was clean and worked. Especially now since windows has reader built in. I have users using that for now because at least that works. Tags: Adobe ReaderReview it: (355) 0 Chipotle OP CatatonicBug Oct 23, 2015 at 4:05 UTC I'm having the same problem. The 2015.007.2033 .msi file installs fine, but when I slipstream the .msp files into it (2015.008.2082 and 2015.009.20069) I get the same error listed above when trying to install the final product onto a machine. I'd be happy with a .msi file for each new version! Something that allows me to install via GPO! 1 Chipotle OP mdcarver Oct 23, 2015 at 4:14 UTC Found the solution. I had to use the removal tool for reader 11. Then you can install DC. Problem crops up when you push updates via GPO. http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html 0 Chipotle OP CatatonicBug Oct 23, 2015 at 5:24 UTC Did the cleaner thing, and it allowed me to reinstall 2015.007.2033. Solved Can't uninstall Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X - Error 2753.The File 'InstallAX.exe' is not marked for installation Posted on 2012-01-20 Software-Other Adobe Flash Active Directory Quality Assurance 1 Verified Solution 6 Comments 3,655 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-12 We used to have a GP for Software Roll out of Adobe Flash and Reader. We recently moved the location of this software to a new documemnt server. The new Document Server had its GP Software updated to Flash 11. Users now have 11 installed but still have Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X installed which is causing problems. I have tried to uninstall Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X but it looks to the old location for the .msi. I have now copied over the Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X .msi so it can now find it but at 90% of the uninstall i get the following error: Error 2753.The File 'InstallAX.exe' is not marked for installation I have tried downloading Adobe's uninstaller but that doesn't work either. Is there another tool that can remove this software or can anyone advise the steps required to manually remove Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X.
