I ran into the same thing a while back trying to install flash player and I had to weed the old flash entries out of the regitry to get it to work. this was the link I used then to help me solve my problem. http://www.eversity.nl/blog/2012/05/adobe-flash-player-install-error-2753-the-file-installax64-exe-is-not-marked-for-installation/ If you have one that works you should be able to compare the 2 registries to see the difference. 21 2012 Adobe Flash Player Install Error 2753: The File ‘InstallAX64.exe' is not marked for installation Categories: Adobe, Flash Player by Erwin During the installation of a new Adobe Flash Player (MSI error 2753 adobe reader package) you receive the following error and the installation is aborted: Error 2753: The
Error 2753 The File Outlookregistryfix Exe Is Not Marked For Installation
File ‘InstallAX64.exe" is not marked for installation. As you can see this is error 2753 the file digisptiservice exe is not marked for installation for the the 64-bit version of Adobe Flash Player, which also includes the 32-bit (x86) version. If you're installing the 32-bit only version of Adobe Flash Player, you will probably receive the same error http://www.itninja.com/question/error-2753-the-file-install-exe-is-not-marked-for-installation but with a slightly different file name: Error 2753: The File ‘InstallAX.exe" is not marked for installation. This error is caused by some incorrect installer registry values for the Adobe Flash Player. First try, if not tried already, to remove all installed Adobe Flash Player versions through the Control Panel. Both ActiveX/Plugin and x86/x64 versions must be uninstalled. After that, try to install Adobe Flash Player again. If this also fails, http://www.eversity.nl/blog/2012/05/adobe-flash-player-install-error-2753-the-file-installax64-exe-is-not-marked-for-installation/ fire up the registry editor (regedit.exe) and navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products The sub-keys of this registry key contains the installer registry settings for the software installed on your computer. Each software installed is represented with a unique GUID, which make it hard to find the Adobe Flash Player entries. This GUID key even differs between the Flash versions. Use the find function (CTRL+F) in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products key to search for "Adobe Flash" and delete the corresponding GUID key. There could be more than one entry for Adobe Flash Player, continue searching after the first one found until the entire key has been searched. In my case, I ended up deleting 3 keys (you might have found different keys, which is normal): [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\8766B4E1705AA6B46B7CEF5EF50C1CC4][HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\A63252E9313E3584C9C8BD07519E9F4C][HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\F76BA31AF796CD74AAB77FB0B8A7DC8B] After deleting these keys, close the registry editor. Adobe Flash Player should now be installed successfully! Solved Can't uninstall Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X - Error 2753.The File 'InstallAX.exe' is not marked for installation Posted on error 2753 2012-01-20 Software-Other Adobe Flash Active Directory Quality Assurance 1 Verified Solution 6 Comments 3,656 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-12 We used to have a GP for Software Roll out of Adobe Flash and Reader. We recently moved the location of this software to a new documemnt server. The new Document Server had its GP Software updated to Flash 11. Users now have 11 installed but still have Adobe Flash Player 10 Active not marked for X installed which is causing problems. I have tried to uninstall Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X but it looks to the old location for the .msi. I have now copied over the Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X .msi so it can now find it but at 90% of the uninstall i get the following error: Error 2753.The File 'InstallAX.exe' is not marked for installation I have tried downloading Adobe's uninstaller but that doesn't work either. Is there another tool that can remove this software or can anyone advise the steps required to manually remove Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X. account only takes a few minutes. Join Now OK I open a second thread for the second problem. I tried to run a flashplayer-MSI via startup-script (GPO). The results show an error msg that the containing exe (inside the msi probably) is "not marked for installation". Is there a way to mark the whole package for installation in a script ??? I quote my problem------------------------------original Thread-------------------------------------------- What I did was create a folder with the two MSI installers, the uninstaller.exe and the installFlash.bat start /wait "\\srv012\ClntApps\_GPO Verteilung\Flash_114402278\uninstall_flash_player.exe" -uninstall -force msiexec.exe /i "\\srv012\ClntApps\_GPO Verteilung\Flash_114402278\install_flash_player_114402278_active_x.msi" /QB! msiexec.exe /i "\\srv012\ClntApps\_GPO Verteilung\Flash_114402278\install_flash_player_114402278_plugin.msi" /QB! In GPO I created a new GPO that runs the InstallFlash.bat as a shutdown script, and a RUN VISIBLE rule, to check. I force-updated the GPO on the server and rebooted my client. My first Q would be if I have to move the msi and exe files to the same folder where the batch file is placed: ...SysVol\mydomain\Policies\{3B83CCC9-C86E-4DAE-9A28-4F19B4EC5711}\Machine\Scripts\Shutdown the CMD window reports "UNC paths are not supported", so I guess that's the problem. It just happens on the EXE uninstaller. I get an error on the MSI file "2753 The File "InstallAX.exe" is not marked for installation. what the heck is going on Reply Subscribe RELATED TOPICS: How to change MSI file in GPO? Installing MSI via GPO Add parameters to msi file   7 Replies Thai Pepper OP Matt9169 Oct 31, 2012 at 1:09 UTC I had this exact problem with flash. The issue for me was that the previous version of flash was not properly removed from the registry. Check HKCR>installer>features> and HKCR>installer>products> for entries relating to installax.exe or flash active x and delete them. Then I had to physically set the GpNetworkStartTimeoutPolicyValue to the default 30 seconds so that my GPO would apply, but I don't think this will be needed as you are using MSIexec. once this is done, GPUPDATE /force /boot. 0 Serrano OP Stefan X Oct 31, 2012 at 1:36 UTC aha - well I'll check for that entry. 0 Serrano OP Stefan X Oct 31, 2012 at 1:40 UTC are the subtree names of those installer entries the same on every client or are those numbers unique? f.e. 000021599B0090400
