I ran into the same thing a while back trying to install flash player and I had to weed the old flash entries out of the regitry to get it to work. this was the link I used then to help me solve my problem. http://www.eversity.nl/blog/2012/05/adobe-flash-player-install-error-2753-the-file-installax64-exe-is-not-marked-for-installation/ If you have one that works you should be able to compare the 2 registries to see the difference. Installing on windows 7 64 bit.Trying to create an install that is 32 and 64 bit compliant. Also trying to execute a custom action at error 2753 end of install.Have had problems before and solution was to create an exe install and not msi.Believe I have done that now but still getting message that "file 'xxx' is not marked for installation" and the install fails.Have attached aip and log file. Thanks,Brian Attachments DuluxAUD.log (310.93 KiB) Downloaded 8 times DuluxAUD.aip (35.58 KiB) Downloaded 7 times Top Dan error 2753 the Posts: 3961 Joined: Wed Apr 24, 2013 3:51 pm Re: The file xxx is not marked for installation - again Quote Postby Dan » Thu May 14, 2015 8:56 am Hi Brian,Indeed, the DuluxReIndex.exe is not marked for installation, as you can see in the log:Code: Select allMSI (s) (10:48) [21:14:42:617]: Product: DuluxAutoSolv -- Error 2753. The File 'DuluxReIndex.exe' is not marked for installation.
Also, the condition for the DuluxReIndex.exe's component is:Code: Select allNOT VersionNT64
That means the component should be installed only on a 32-bit system. However, in the log I can see that the VersionNT64 is set. That means you are running on a 64bit OS, a Windows 7 64bit.In this case, you should make sure that the related custom action is only running on the X86 OSs.You can also take a look on the How do I install resources based on the Operating System version? article which may be useful to you.Should there be any difficulty you encounter implementing something, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will gladly assist.Best regards,Dan Dan Ghio
