Cause This erroroccurs when a custom action is run andits targetfile was not installed. Solution Add a condition around the custom action to ensure that the custom action runs only when the file itself is installed: (NOT Installed) AND ($FilesComponent >= 3) (NOT Installed) will make sure the action is not run during a repair. If that is a desired behavior then omit "(NOT Installed) AND" from the above example.FilesComponent

I found an explanation that makes sense on this link: http://community.acresso.com/showthr...ghlight=marked The suggestion was "The condition on the custom action should be changed to account for the fact that the component the file belongs to may not be installed". So how do you do this? I also dont mind setting a component to always install even if it wasnt updated. Is that possible and how? Thanks, Ray Reply With Quote 01-22-2009,04:27 PM #2 JesseBearden View Profile View Forum Posts Super User (100+ Posts) Join Date Oct 2004 Posts 110 You can right click on the file inside of the component and select "Properties" and then "Always over write" The most likely better solution is to place a component action condition on the Action that you have designed. For more info on those see here: http://www.appdeploy.com/articles/msicustomactions/ The condition should look something like: $MyComponent=3 Reply With Quote Quick Navigation InstallShield 2009 Top Site Areas Settings Private Messages Subscriptions Who's Online Search Forums Forums Home Forums Products AdminStudio AdminStudio Compatibility Solver Workflow Manager App Portal FlexNet Producer Suite FlexNet Connect FlexNet Instrumentation Management FlexNet Enterprise Update Management FlexNet Licensing FlexNet Embedded FlexNet Publisher FlexNet Operations FlexNet Usage Management FlexNet Electronic Software Delivery FlexNet Advanced Organization FlexNet Cloud Licens
