I also faced the same problem. I fixed by moving files into another disk. If you are using Linux OS. You can check the disk usage by using the command: > df -k Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on /dev/xvda1 8256952 7857928 0 100% / udev 860884 4 860880 1% /dev tmpfs 347492 188 347304 1% /run none 5120 0 5120 0% /run/lock none 868724 0 868724 0% /run/shm /dev/xvdb 350891748 199364 332868104 1% /mnt And I moved some files from /dev/xvda1 -> /dev/xvdb partition. And checked the disk usage. > df -k Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on /dev/xvda1 8256952 2520216 5317308 33% / udev 860884 4 860880 1% /dev tmpfs 347492 188 347304 1% /run none 5120 0 5120 0% /run/lock none 868724 0 868724 0% /run/shm /dev/xvdb 350891748 415456 332652012 1% /mnt Now MySQL server working fine. share|improve this answe

According to official MySQL docs, "If you get his error, you need to check all filesystems where MySQL http://magento.stackexchange.com/questions/36624/sqlstatehy000-general-error-1030-got-error-28-from-storage-engine operates. It may be single filesystem or as we recommend you can have datadir, tmpdir and log files split into dedicated filesystems."Solutiona) Stop mysql server # /etc/init.d/mysql stop OR # error 28 /etc/init.d/mysqld stop b) Check filesystem and /tmp directories: $ df -h$ cd /tmp

This is happening on the Database Server because it is out of disk space or because your hosting provider has set a database size limit that your database cannot grow beyond for fair sharing of resources (shared hosting) Check with your hosting provider to have them sort the issue out. Alternatively it can happen when the system /tmp folder is full (separate mount point, disk full). Again a hosting provider issue unless you're running a VPS. 1030 Got error 28 from storage engine share|improve this answer edited Sep 22 '14 at 5:36 answered Sep 22 '14 at 5:27 Fiasco Labs 4,55831233 Thanks so much.
