If so, can you try removing it via the Control Panel and see if you can re-install? Ian, Aug 5, 2012 #4 kmht0307 Joined: Aug 5, 2012 Messages: 5 Likes Received: 1 No nothing else JAVA installed. I have found this error in a search and apparently it results from the application data folder being redirected. But I'm not sure what that means or how to correct it? kmht0307, Aug 5, 2012 #5 Ian Administrator Joined: Oct 17, 2008 Messages: 3,426 Likes Received: 624 Can you try creating the following folder manually and then see if the install will work? Having done that, when I navigate to http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp to test for Java, it says that 'No working Java was detected on your system' and points me toward the link to install

This solved my problem! –Mirjalal Talishinski Jun 7 '15 at 8:14 add a comment| up vote 1 down vote I had a message like yours or another one ("download failed to ...\LocalLow") when I tried to execute directly from java website). I checked out that folder (LocalLow), in fact there was a problem with that folder's ownership (the owner was "unknown" and I still don't know how was it possible) so I changed the ownership of the folder as "user" and I managed to install Java without any error message. share|improve this answer edited Feb 26 '12 at 15:11 slhck 125k38312360 answered Feb 26 '12 at 14:55 Marco 111 add a comment| up vote 1 down vote On my Vista PC, the folder %HOMEPATH%/AppData/LocalLow was not writable neither for me nor for Administrators. Granting "write" permissions to this "LocalLow"-Folder solved the issue for me. share|improve this answer answered May 15 '13 at 5:31 girafi 112 add a comm
