C:\Windows AIK\Tools\PETools> the only difference between what i have done and the book is that i installed the AIK on the root directory C:\ instead of the C:\program files. I don't think that should make a diffence though. any way has anyone else ran into this and if have you resolved this and how. I have also read a few post sugecting an acronis project but i don't think that option will be on the exam. any way any help with this would be great. Advertisement webmanoffesto Thread Starter Joined: Jun 4, 2010 Messages: 48 I'm working on a laptop which recently had Windows 7 (clean install) put on it. I'm now doing a WAIK exercise in Self Paced Training Kit 70-680. I created a local WinPE build directory. I copied over ImageX. I created Wimscipt.ini. Now I need do create the .iso file using oscdimg. I'm in "c:\winpe_86>" https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/27230267/oscdimg-Error-3-The-system-cannot-find-the-path-specified.html I enter "oscdimg -n -bc:\winpe_x86\eftsboot.com Cc:\winpe_x86\ISO c:winpe_x86\winpe_x86.iso" and I get "Scanning source tree ERROR: Failure enumerating files in directory "C:\WINPEX86\CC:WINPE_X86\ISO\" Error 123: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect." What's the problem here? The instructions in the book are supposed to be clear. In the error line "C:\WINPEX86\CC:WINPE_X86\ISO\" is a red light. But I don't know what to do about it. webmanoffesto, Sep 13, 2010 #1 webmanoffesto https://forums.techguy.org/threads/oscdimg-error-failure-enumerating-files-in-directory.949670/ Thread Starter Joined: Jun 4, 2010 Messages: 48 Could this lead toward a solution? Then I used vlite to intergrate service packs and drivers to each image within the wim. So my finally x86 n x64 AIO is just over 4GB. oscdimg error 3 However, oscdimg willl not create the iso due to install.wim having a file size larger than 4GB. Can anyone help me resolve this issue? I will remove Vista starter and N versions from the wim if I need too. I just don't know how to do that without starting over.
 Innocent Devil 1 1 632 posts February 4, 2005 Country: Posted January 31, 2008 its due to joliet file size limitjoliet file s/m allows only single file size to 2GBso ,change the OSCDIMG switch to -u1 (to build UDF bridge fs) or -u2 instead of -n or -j1
 WildOptic 0 0 38 posts September 22, 2003 Posted January 31, 2008 its due to joliet file size limitjoliet file s/m allows only single file size to 2GBso ,change the OSCDIMG switch to -u1 (to build UDF bridge fs) or -u2 instead of -n or -j1Thank you for the information! October 26, 2009 by Sarang Dravid 66 Comments From my previous post of Winows 7 Direct Dowload links leaked, many of my readers requested me to provide a tutorial for making an ISO disc from the EXE, Setup1.box and Setup2.box Files , so that it would be an easier task for them to make clean and fresh install on their system. Thanx to DigitalLife, I am here by providing a tutorial for creating an ISO image from the 3 downloaded files from MS server. To create a bootable disc from the downloaded files simply follow these steps: Copy all the 3 downloaded files (the .exe, setup1.box and setup2.box) in one single drive (for this tutorial, let’s assume the files are put in Drive C i.e. C:\ ). Right click on each of three files, select Properties, and then click on Unblock button to prevent files from unable to be accessed. Click OK when done. Run the exe (if on Vista on windows 7 RC or RTM or OEM run the exe as administrator by right click and select "RUN as ADMINISTRATOR"), the exe will extract the .box files and will create a new folder with name "expandedSetup" consisting Windows 7 setup files. Exit from Install Windows wizard dialog. Check for the oscdimg.exe %SystemDrive%\Windows\System32 folder. If you don't have any such file in your System32 folder, than download it by clicking here, and put it in %SystemDrive%\Windows\System32 folder. Now Open the command prompt (with administrative privileges in Vista /in XP command prompt opens with administrative privileges by default) . To open command prompt : Click on Start button. Locate the Command Prompt menu item (inside Accessories under All Programs). Click on Command Prompt (in XP) for Vista : Right click on Command Prompt. On the pop-up right click context menu, select “Run as Administratorâ€. In the command prompt run the following command: oscdimg.exe –bC:\expandedSetup\boot\etfsboot.com –u2 –h -m -lWIN_EN_DVD C:\expandedSetup\ C:\Win7.iso
If the code doesn't work use : oscdimg -bC:\expandedSetup\boot\etfsboot.com -h -u2 -m -lWIN_EN_DVD C:\expandedSetup\ C:\win7.isoFor 64-bit version if the above two commands doesn't work! use : oscdimg.exe –bC:\expandedSetup\boot\bootsect.exe –u2 –h -m -lWIN_EN_DVD C:\expandedSetup\ C:\Win7.iso All work is done, a bootable ISO DVD image is created in your C:/ Drive named "Win7.iso" . Now, use any CD/DVD burning software like Nero, Ultra ISO , Alcohol
