I was burning with Memorex's 52x CD-R... when I switched to a Maxell's CD-R, the error was gone! And I left the burn speed at http://www.marshu.com/design-computer-tips-tricks-fixes-itunes-4450.php 'maximum'. It did it in about 4minutes. Another vistior mentioned a TDK CD worked as well to fix 4450 error. Good luck! Another 4450 iTunes error fix - capacity of your CD. For example, if total amount of memory your songs need are 750mb, but your CD is only capable of writing 700mb, you will get error 4450. In fact, when I wrote this article about switching the brands, what may have happened is that the Maxell's CD-R brand has bigger memory capacity... 800mb vs 700mb. Commonly, an error message saying “The attempt to burn a disc failed. An unknown error occurred (4450)" will error 4450 happen while a user tries to burn a CD via iTunes. And it can most of the time occur even though the burning process seems to finish. Why does this frustrating iTunes 4450 error message happen and how can you successfully burn your desired CDs? To fix iTunes 4450 error, the first step you should do is to update the iTunes to the latest version. Some bugs or problems in the older cd error 4450 version of the iTunes will stop you from running the program correctly. So do remember to always update the program when there is an update available. To do it, just open your iTunes, and then choose Help > Check for Updates. Besides, bear in mind that the out-of-date or incorrectly configured security software, firewalls, and router settings or firmware may also cause this iTunes 4450 error when you are burning a CD. If this is the case for you, then you need to make sure that all security software and other computer utilities are kept up to date and properly configured to effectively protect the computer as well as allow an update or restore to continue. So, if the above solutions do not help, you should go to identify, update, and configure third-party security software to ensure that they are configured correctly. If after the above steps you still get the iTunes unknown 4450 error, I guess there might be something corrupt or broken within the iTunes program installed on your PC. At this time, you’d better uninstall it and then reinstall it again. To completely uninstall it, it is best that you can rely on the Windows packaged Add/Remove Programs feature: *Go to Start, Control Panel *Double click Add/Remove Programs *Within the app
"Burn Process Failed" [Error4450] Wednesday August 15, 2007 TheSkepticalAtheist Leave a comment Go to comments Either of these messages can be quite disheartening. "Burn Process Failed" showing up when using Nero Burning ROM, or "Error 4450" when burning a CD through iTunes. I'm willing to bet that if you've found this site through a search engine, you've probably got a stack of about 20 or so useless, ruined blank CD-Rs or DVD-Rs; more commonly known as coasters. Basically, from what I've been able to deduce, the cause of this problem is a bad DVD-R/CD-RW drive. None of the solutions offered on the web, by anyone, seem to have remedied the situation. Every once-in-a-while a disc would burn successfully. But these came fewer and more far between. What I finally ended up doing was going out and buying a new disc burner. And now, the problem is gone. This post gets a huge amount of hits every single day. This problem must be pretty rampant. Too bad no one on any official sites will give any additional information as to what the cause of this is. So, that's all I've got. If you have any additional info, email me at godkillzyou@gmail.com. Read a book. Update As Of 6/7/2009 I've written an open letter to Apple, Inc. about this problem. I wonder if it will have any effect? I should also mention that even after having purchased a new CD burner, I still get this error. Problem not fixed. Rate this:Share this:RedditLike this:Like Loading... I hate that Error 4450. I have tried all sorts of ways to make successful audio CDs, and have been unsuccessful. I have changed the writing speed from Maximum Possibel to 20x or 24x, I have changed the brand of CD-Rs I have bought, & have tried burning the music by using a different media such as Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, Rhapsody, etc. I had even reformated my main-driver but I still get the same error message when I attempt to burn an audio CD. Now I am definitely saving up for an external CD-DVD rewritable drive. Just curious, but do all CD-DVD rewritable drives eventually wear out over time? stevie L Monday July 27, 2009 at 2:44 PM Reply had the same prob, so I tried just playin it in the car and it works no probs….. ye hah!!!!!!! Mystic Tuesday October 12, 2010 at 3:59 PM Reply Same here! CD still played despite the error. I tried different brands of CD's, changing speed, and even bought a new burner. Still get the error message. Tex Friday December 3, 2010 at 4:59 PM Re
