Error 5 Access Denied Windows 7 Starting Service
(the shutdown -i), and if I have "password enable sharing" turned on I get access denied(5) but if that is error 5 access denied windows 8 turned off it works fine. How can I get this working again? I have read that I may need to create a useraccountwith the same username and password of the account on this computer

I wish to shutdown, but I have tried this and it does not work, plus having a extra account on either computer is kind of annoying, isn't there a way I can do it without having the same user account on my two PCs? Maybe like just using the username andpasswordof the remote computer directly without actually having thataccountcreated on my PC? I checked the shutdown switches but I could not find a switch that lets you enter alternate credentials for the shutdown. You should create a user and make it a member of the Local Administrators Group on the Machine you want to shut down. The credentials should be identical the ones you are logged in with. "This means the remote RPC component failed to execute the requested operation. It is because it is not allowed to operate on terminal service (Remote Desktop) through RPC by default. To modify this setting to enable Remote Desktop API through RPC, you need to find the following registry key: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server Then add a DWORD value named “AllowRemoteRPC” and change its value to 1." Accessing a normal (i.e. non-administrative) share works flawlessly, though. Problem In this situation you get the following error when trying to connect to the admin share in Explorer: This is the message text: \\192.168.175.129\c$ is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
