I'm getting the error listed in the subject when any user tries to login.Everything was working, and then I decided to mess with things on my server. One of two things has caused the problem.1. I ran a bit of code I found on forums.msexchange.org to allow users to access their mail via IMAP.2. My IIS was running on 64 bit mode, but I have some apps that were written using .net version 1.1 so I attempted changing my IIS to 32 bit mode. I also tried to change the virtual directories to point at the 32 bit clientaccess folders which I downloaded as well. This didn't work, so I have updated the apps to .net 2.0 and put the IIS back onto 64 bit mode. I also removed all the OWA virtual directories and unsintalled the client access role. I then reinstalled the client access role again, but still no luck.My Exchange 2007 is running on my own server, and myself and about 5 or 6 friends have mailboxes to play around with. The mail is forwarded from their normal POP mail server. Connecting to the server via RPC, IMAP or ActiveSync still works. (Although I am struggling to make these work with my SSL certificate).Any help would be appreciated. At worst I can probably reinstall Exchange. If I need to this, will I be able to back up my databases, mailboxes and mailbox settings and reuse them once I've installed? Thanks,Nathan Wednesday, August 16, 2006 11:33 AM Reply | Quote All replies 0 Sign in to vote I think I made it worse... I've not changed anything other than the custom error mode, and I also switched to Forms mode authentication just to see if it made a difference. Switched back to Windows mode, and now I'm getting this error: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Exchange.Diagnostics, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

During logon? And does it http://forums.msexchange.org/Error_5_from_HrGetServersForRole/m_1800413928/tm.htm happen for all users? Are we speaking a single Exchange box? Did it work until you made a change? _____________________________HTH Henrik Walther Lead Moderator/author MSExchange.org Follow me on Twitter! It started either last night when I ran the add-adpermissions cmdlet from one of your other posts to enable imap, or this morning when I was messing with changing from 64 bit to 32 bit iis. (It's back on 64 bit now). I didn't try the webmail last night again so not sure if that did it. I've also tried removing the client access role, and reinstalling it as well as removing the virtual directories using remove-owavirtualdirectory commands and then reinstalling the client access role. I'm not sure what else to try... (in reply to Henrik Walther) Post #: 3 RE: Error 5 from HrGetServersForRole - 16.Aug.2006 11:00:59 AM
