The job gives me the error 5 (0x00000005), although the folders error 5 (0x00000005) changing file attributes get copied across as well as the permissions. has anyone experienced this? Thanks Wednesday, April 17, 2013 10:43 AM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote Hi, I believe you need error 5 (0x00000005) changing file attributes access is denied to turn off the attribute copying. Robocopy uses the /COPY:DAT by default, which means to copy data, attributes and timestamp. You should turn off attribute copying by explicit setting /COPY:DT The same details you can findLuis Rocha blog. Turning off the attribute copying helps however the issue came from the account not having full permissions on the source files, somehow, very strange but fixed now. Please see if same issue persists if you turn off copying attribute.TechNet Subscriber Support in forum |If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tnmff@microsoft.com. Join Now Hi Everyone I am having an issue with Robocopy here are the details. This script has worked for years. Recently we https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/c8a879a6-9e7e-482c-94dc-c9304effb704/robocopy-mir-sec-secfix-error-5-0x00000005?forum=winserverfiles removed the old Dell Power Edge Servers that held our software share and replaced them with Seagate 1 Bay 2TB Business NAS. The problem I am having is after the initial copy to the drive I get the following error message. 2014/06/26 08:35:08 ERROR 5 (0x00000005) Changing File Attributes \\py-nas\software\Adobe Reader\ Access is denied. Now I have done a bunch of testing trying to figure this out, https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/527135-robocopy-help and this is what is going on. I took the adobe folder and deleted it, than ran the robocopy command: Textrobocopy.exe \\lc-nas\software \\py-nas\software /MIR /FFT /R:5 /W:5 /NP /LOG+:C:\Scripts\Software\PYSoftware.txt" The adobe files copied without an error. After the files were copied the first time. I ran the script again from the same command prompt I had open for the initial copy. I then get the error stated above.I normally run this at night via scheduled tasks using my own credentials. I can physically goto \\py-nas\software and copy delete make new files / folders etc so I dont think it is a permissions issue. The Seagate Business NAS is on the domain I am using CFS for the file permissions. My self, my boss, and administrator have full access rights to the share, while our all staff container has read only.Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Phil Tags: Microsoft RobocopyReview it: (152) Reply Subscribe View Best Answer RELATED TOPICS: Robocopy Robocopy Errors Robocopy or What?   9 Replies Tabasco OP DHeck1961 Jun 26, 2014 at 1:57 UTC Is the file in question read only?
