Answer ID 27690 | Updated 09/10/2016 12:14 PM Symptom: I am attempting to extract the files from a download of Act!, but am receiving one of the following Errors: “"WinZip Self-Extractor Error 5 running command .\bin\demo32.exe". or "Can't create output file: C:\ACT_Pro_2011\ACTSTD\program files\ACT\ActInstallDir\Act.Devices.Entities.EntityMap.xml Product: Product Family: Act! Product: Act! Pro, Act! Premium, Act! Premium (access via web) Cause: This can occur on machines running Windows Vista or higher operating systems where User Account Control (UAC) is enabled, if the extraction is not being run using Windows administrator rights, or if your antivirus is blocking the extraction. Solution: Run the Download as an Administrator You can first try running the download as an administrator. To do this, right-click on the file you downloaded and select Run As Administrator. If this does not resolve the issue, please proceed to the second option below. Disable User Account Control (UAC) You can attempt to resolve this by disabling User Control in Windows.
