OS version 7.1 and earlier Back to top ↑ Overview  When the BlackBerry smartphone user attempts to open a web page using the browser on error 404 blackberry the BlackBerry smartphone, the following error message is displayed: HTTP Error 503: Service UnavailableIf the above error occurs, please see the below checklist. Task 1: Confirm that the BlackBerry Mobile Data System (BlackBerry MDS) is turned on for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and the BlackBerry smartphone user account Turn on the BlackBerry MDS Connection Service for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server by error 403 blackberry completing the following steps: Click the Server Configuration tab. Expand Service Control & Customization. Click Enable BlackBerry MDS Connection Service. To enable the BlackBerry MDS for the BlackBerry smartphone user account, follow these steps:For BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.1 Click the User Configuration tab. Select the desired BlackBerry smartphone user's account. Expand Service Access and click Enable Connection and Collaboration Services. For BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0 Open the user's record in the BlackBerry Administration Service. If I try to use the blackberry browser and go to any web page, I get the following error: HTTP Error 503 Service Unavailable. The server is currently unable to handle your request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. Contact your service provider if the problem persists. We do have a error 503 BES for Exchange at the current version (SP3). We do have MDS Services installed and running. So, I'm not sure what the issue is. Any ideas? Our IT departmented installed the latest service pack on our BB server on the 5th. I thought this had something to do with it. Based on your message, maybe not.??
