running the last line i get a runtime error 6verflow. I ran it also in VB6,no problems. What's wrong in this ? Overflow. Since you've hard coded the 256 * 256 you could replace that with 65536, or you can append '&' to a number which coerces it to a Long data type. This kind of error happens when you try to assign a value to someting (a variable, a property) and that this value is out of the range capacity of the recipient (too large or too small).
