I created a dual boot sytem using Super Grub several months ago. The system had Vista Ultimate 64-bit and Ubuntu. My original setup wasn't really clean, but it worked. I decided to remove the partition containing Ubuntu and restore the windows boot loader and start over with a smaller partition for Ubuntu. After deleting all the extended partitions, and merging them back into one C: drive partition, Grub looped an echo of "GRUB" on the screen really fast and did not boot windows. I reestablished the GRUB booter but when trying to delete it from the MBR altogether, and restore the windows bootloader, the "Error 6" comes up. I noticed that it said the version of stage1/stage2 was corrupt, I tried to reinstall GRUB on hd0. Then I get: Error 15: File not found. Booting 'not lucky'. **** Revised ****I tried to run "Show Partitions" and again recevied the Error 6. GRUB sees two copies of my primary C: drive partition and labels them hd0 and hd1. There is only one such physical drive however. How can I make a fresh start?**** End Revision ****Can anyone help me to remove GRUB so that I can start fresh? The version of SGD that I currently have that boots is 0.97-os.1Let me know if you require more info to be of assistance.Cheers,Jason « Last Edit: 2009/09/03, 12:18:45 pm by jaysunp » Logged adrian15 Administrator Hero Member Posts: 833 Please test Rescatux and report back feedback...
