Error 633 The Modem Is Already In Use Windows 10
on 16 Oct 2006 17:36 Any help please on why I'm getting a 633 error
The Modem Is Already In Use Or Is Not Configured Properly Windows 10
[modem in use by another program] whenever I try to connect to my ISP [Netzero]. This happened on Friday and I canNOT error 633 dial up windows 8 seem to resolve it. I have about $50 in service calls to Netzero & no resolve. I've rebooted, unplugged, uninstalled Netzero& reinstalled. I've tried to minimize everything in the task manager to the point of system shutdown. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/885959 I can use the same phone jack to access the ISP with my laptop [no problem]. I do not have any other devices installed like Palm pilot or anything that might try to use the modem. I use Norton anti-virus and there is supposed to be a firewall in existence on the modem. THANK YOU if you can give me a clue. Posted by RoHe on 17 Oct 2006 0:14 Assuming this isn't a real hardware failure, and this just started to happen, run a System Restore. Pick the most recent date available when you know it worked ok. Your personal files won't be lost, but any software (eg, XP updates) that were installed after the date used for the restore have to be reinstalled.click start>help&supportclick "Undo changes..."follow
