I had used 'repair LAN' from motherboard dvd and my connection seemed ok again. I ran it for about a day with frequent intentional disconnection and re-connection...and rebooted both restart and full close down and re-connected with no problems to test it and to see how robust the connection was...and... I then thought it safe to re-install Shadow Defender again. I installed 1.2.0.346 to be on the safe side. I went into Shadow Mode and connected to internet. Everything seemed ok. I disconnected from within Shadow Mode and re-connected to internet. Everything seemed ok. Then I went out of Shadow Mode and rebooted. On trying to connect I got the Hangup RasHangup error 668 again. A reboot didn't cure it. It seems that the damage that was done with the last version has carried through to any installation of Shadow Defender will now pull down my LAN if I go into Shadow Mode and make an internet connection. I have now uninstalled the LAN completely and done a complete re-install rather than a repair this time. I am up and running again in normal mode but I have taken Shadow Defender off for the moment until I decide what to do next. I'm baffled and would welcome any ideas, tips or tricks on this. Up to now , I've tried, re-setting winsock, re-setting TCP/IP stack uninstalling and re-installing miniports using devcon.exe, uninstalling and re-installing my network adapter, repairing the LAN and now a complete uninstall re-install of LAN. I would like to use Shadow Defender again but until I get to the bottom of this I won't be able to.. What did that version do. It seems it took over at a low level and broke some fundamental settings or structure. Patrick .Click to expand... Patrick, I would suggest that if you decide to re-installing SD, to refrain from connecting or disconnecting while in shadow mode. I would also report it to Tony. It sounds like it could be a bug or a software conflict to me. I'm on AOL 512kbs (never had any probs before) BT Voyager 100 modem The power light is on http://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/the-unofficial-shadow-defender-support-thread.293075/page-150 and the adsl light. The data light comes on when I am downloading/ surfing but after 10 mins you can see the data light just drop. I have uninstalled the modem drivers. I dont use AOL software. I even did a system restore with Ghost. I watched the problem happen this monrning and this time observed a kind of hiccup in that the modem power light also dropped with the adsl light going off. After a 20 seconds or http://www.ispreview.co.uk/talk/showthread.php/18767-Connection-drops so they were both back on. I use a little program called cidial which records an error 668 ras hangup?? When the system boots up, the modem power light and adsl are on and are stable. So, I'm wondering if the modem is faulty or if there's a power drop on my system feecing the usb modem. I checked the line with BT and they say its okay - However, this was automated so I have reported the fault online for a more thorough check. I have spoken with AOL and they are sending me a modem. They supposedly checked the line and did not fault it. Could it be all this hot weather? According to a little prog I have my pc is running at 32 degrees. All positive feedback and comments appreciated. It allow very limited connections pool (about 30 in free plan). In deploy process, connections can hang up, so I have to use some error 668 hangup about 40-50% connections from available. It's not good so i'm fetching from database if something connections error happens. But I have a problem with max number of clients reached error. Parser recognize this as ResponseError, but in fact this is ConnectionError. I've discussed this as cacheops issue with @Suor and we decided that converting this error into ConnectionError would be better. Is this ok? If so, I would make pull request to fix this.
