Solved Verizon Wireless card error 720 when trying to connect Posted on 2007-09-23 Networking Hardware-Other Internet Protocols 1 Verified Solution 10 Comments 5,218 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-27 I have a Verizon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGGLdWuKfUo Wireless card PC5740 that has worked for the past year in my IBM - T60 with win XP Pro. Last weekend the wireless, Lan, and The Verizon card quit working. I deleted the wireless and Lan from device manager and the computer reinstalled them, and they both work. The verizon gives error 720. The modem was replaced by Verizon after their Tech support failed to correct he problem. I have https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/22847591/Verizon-Wireless-card-error-720-when-trying-to-connect.html updated the machine and windows, Bought a registry program and corrected 1900 errors, and the Verizon card still gives error 720. Can anyone help. 0 Question by:firstbenefits Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 1 Best Solution byiNNoVaSioN Open Verizon Access Manager.Click Tools>Preferences>WWAN tab>Verify that "NDIS Mode" is checked. I would try uninstalling everything in the device manager associated with the Verizon card. If that does not work, click the link below and run that program. I use it to fix network problems usually associated with spyware/viruses, but it may do the trick for you. http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html 0 Message Author Comment by:firstbenefits2007-09-24 I removed the card and it works fine in my other Thinkpad. I tried the winsock fix, uninstalled IBM Acess connections, deleted all devices, restarted and it still will not connect. I took the machine to a local computerstore and a tech spent an hour and told me all the settings seemed OK. He suggested a reformat of the hard drive. Is there a way to repair windows XP without reinstalling. 0 Message Expert Comment by:el
to disable Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration for server 2003/2008 Riverbed ROCKS! » Verizon Access Manager/US Cellular ERROR 720 - Cannot connect to server/remote server 4 15 Jul 2010 | Air Cards I used to see this error constantly with some of http://vivithemage.com/2010/07/15/verizon-access-manager-error-720-cannot-connect-to-serverremote-server/ our users who used Verizon Access Manager, and ANY type of Air Card; PC5750, PC5740, PC5220, tethering with Blackberries, etc. Using the VZAM software, or US Cellular sometimes you will not get an error, sometimes you will. The best way to test what error you are getting is to insert your air card, and use the Dial Up connection that is created by the software to attempt to connect (in Networks Connections). error 720 You will always get some sort of error. So far I have not seen this on Windows 7, only on Windows XP PRO SP2, or SP3, so I will write this up assuming you have Windows XP. CAUSE: This issue may occur if the TCP/IP protocol has become unbound from the dial-up adapter, or if a conflict is created when a second WAN Miniport IP device driver loads. Back to the top Back aircard error 720 to the top RESOLUTION: To resolve this issue, uninstall the WAN Miniport IP and PPTP devices. To do so, follow these steps: To be safe, uninstall the CISCO VPN (if you use it). You should also remove the BB, or Aircard from device manager. Step 1: 1. Open Device Manager 2. Under the View menu click Show hidden devices. 3. Under Network adapters, you will see WAN Miniport IP devices. If a WAN Miniport IP device is listed, continue to the following step. If no WAN Miniport IP devices are listed, go directly to step 16. 4. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK. 5. Locate the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} 6. On the Registry menu, click Export Registry File, type backup-key in the File name box, and then click Save. (Note You can restore the changes that you make to this registry key. To do so, double-click the backup-key.reg file that you saved.) 7. Click each of the registry subkeys under this key, and then view the Data column of the DriverDesc value to determine which of the subkeys corresponds to WAN Miniport (IP). For example, the 0005 subkey. 8. Right-click the subkey whose DriverDesc value data is WAN Miniport (IP) or WAN Minport (PPTP); (for example,
