OLE DB error trace[OLE/DB Provider 'MSDAORA'IDBInitialize::Initializa returned 0x80004005: ]. I found some articles about but I'm not sure about the solution for this problem. I could create the linked server without any problem. However getting this following error "Error 7399: OLEDB provider 'MSDAORA' reported an error. OLEDB error trace [oledb provider MSDAORA IDBInitialize:: Initialize returned 0x80004005: ] * Is it a Oracle Priviledges issue on my user ? (i could query those error 7399 msdaora tables on the Oracle SQL Plus) or * Is the SQL Server not properly configured for the Linked Server....? I really appreciate your suggestion. Thanks a lot Love .Net2 Reply Texrat None 0 Points 40 Posts Re: Error 7399: OLEDB provider 'MSDAORA' reported an error May 30, 2006 04:54 PM|Texrat|LINK I'm getting the exact same thing, but only on one of the 2 SQL Servers (2000) involved. As far asI can tell they're both configured essentially the same, too... but only one can effectively link to the Oracle databases. The other produces the same error you see if I try to retrieve a list of tables from the linked database. Query tests using Oracle's SQL Plus work perfectly on the Server with the error. Sure wish someone could provide an answer... ‹ Previous Thread|Next Thread › This site is managed for Microsoft by Neudesic, LLC. | © 2016 Microsoft. All rights reserved.
