Vpn Error 800 Server 2012
in to vote Hello everybody, I have an error which happened "overnight" where it just stopped working. This vpn error 800 vpn tunnels failed is for my wife's computer & office environment so I have limited insight into their architecture. We used to be able to VPN into the office from this Win 7 laptop http://help.unotelly.com/support/solutions/articles/39006-error-800-unable-to-establish-the-vpn-connection- then *poof* no more. We get error 800 and after researching on this topic and solutions point to upgrading the office router for GRE support (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319108/en-us) but IT said nothing has changed in the infrastucture. Hence I'm stomped. The setup is fairly simple, PPTP VPN on ISA2004 (I think, or the latest). The interesting part is that on my trust old XP https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/9437087d-7592-4082-8883-4c2db4096890/vpn-error-800-on-windows-7-help-needed?forum=w7itpronetworking laptop I can connect without any issues hence why I think its the Win7 unit which has the problem. If you have any suggestions please share - thank you in advance! Some firewall between you and our VPN servers blocks the PPTP VPN connection - TCP port 1723 or GRE protocol. You have disabled "VPN passthrough" option in your router / modem / wireless device. PPTP VPN is blocked by your ISP. Bug in Windows system or ADSL/NAT/WIRELESS router. SOLUTION: Try to connect to all of the available VPN servers. You can find list of our servers in your Members Area Be sure that you have enabled the "VPN passthrough" option in your modem / router / wireless device configuration. Reboot your computer and reboot your modem / router / wireless devices and be sure that the latest firmware is installed. Then try to connect. Disable your Windows Firewall or Norton Antivirus or another software which could block GRE protocol or port TCP 1723. Then try to connect. Remove your VPN connection from Windows, reboot your computer and configure the VPN connection again. Again try to connect. Try to connect directly without the router. Try to connect on different internet connection or from different computer / system. Still doesn't work? If you have Windows 7 or Windows 8, then try SSTP VPN protocol: Unblock VPN SSTP Installer for Windows Guide If you have Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8, then try L2TP/IPSec VPN protocol: Unblock VPN L2TP/IPSec Installer for Windows Guide Otherwise use the OpenVPN protocol which we provide on non-standard ports 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS) and it should work to you: How to set up OpenVPN on Windows?
