The VPN server may be unreachable, or security parameters may not be configured properly for the connection" The weird thing is, someone in my office, at the same time, can VPN in while I am having issues. Then after so many times of having issues, I eventually can get in. Sometimes I can try connecting all day and sometimes it only takes http://superuser.com/questions/841313/vpn-error-800-cant-connect-to-network a couple times for it to eventually work. My computer is running Windows 7 Pro. Is there a limit on how many people can VPN in at one time? Is there a setting that I need to change? windows-7 networking vpn share|improve this question edited May 6 '15 at 22:48 Jason Aller 2,16741620 asked Nov 17 '14 at 15:19 Woody 1912 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote Hope i can help you regarding your issue. This is for my wife's computer & office environment error 800 so I have limited insight into their architecture. We used to be able to VPN into the office from this Win 7 laptop then *poof* no more. We get error 800 and after researching on this topic and solutions point to upgrading the office router for GRE support (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319108/en-us) but connecting to vpn IT said nothing has changed in the infrastucture. Hence I'm stomped. The setup is fairly simple, PPTP VPN on ISA2004 (I think, or the latest). The interesting part is that on my trust old XP laptop I can connect without any issues hence why I think its the Win7 unit which has the problem. If you have any suggestions please share - thank you in advance! Error 800 Modified on: Thu, 11 Jun, 2015 at 1:15 PM Not yet registered? It's quick and easy, sign up to our VPN Service now! Firstly, sorry you are having problems, hopefully we will be able to get you connected without much further ado. Error 800 is a Windows error that can occur when using the PPTP or L2TP protocol, it means that your computer cannot connect to our server. Usually, this is down to a local configuration problem, either the VPN is setup incorrectly, or something is blocking the connection (usually your security software, firewall or router). Firstly, to ensure you are trying to connect to the correct server, please can you re-enter the servername in the VPN settings, the correct server names for each country are the three letter (ISO/UN) country code followed by .my-private-network.co.uk, so for the United Kingdom, one would enter gbr.mypn.co If this still fails, we have introduced an alternative VPN technology that uses the SSL protocol, and this usually performs better in circumstances where users are having difficulty using our standard VPN. Full instructions for setting up your connection via SSL can be found on the following links: Windows XP Windows Vista Windows 7 Windows 8 Please give that a try and if you have any further problems, get in touch by sending us an email to support@my-private-network.co.uk and we will do our best to assist you?
