Error 997 Overlapped I/o Operation Is In Progress Visual C++
Overlapped I/O First seen in Enterprise Console 5.0.0 Cause The installer is unable to create a required share on the computer. In the Sophos_BootStrapperlog you see the following error: NetShareAdd failed with error: 997 To confirm the issue is with the computer, using Explorer, when attempting to share any folder you see the following error: An error occurred while trying to share xxxx. Incorrect function. The shared resource was not created at this time. What To Do There are potentially a number of reasons for the above failure, the following information may help you isolate and possibly fix the underlying problem. Restoring the Windows firewall defaults Open the "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security". To do so, navigate to: Start | Run, type: wf.msc and clicking 'OK'. Ensure the'Windows Firewall with Advanced Security on Local Computer' is highlighted on the left side of the screen. Under the 'Actions Panel' click the 'Restore defaults'. The uninstalled the windows update KB2918614 . Tried to install VMware workstation 9 , did not succeed same error.Tried to install Symantec Endpoint Protection , did not succeed error 997 Overlapped I/O operation in progress.In a technical sheet of symantec they advise to uninstall the windows update KB2918614.I uninstalled KB2918614 again, tried to install SEP , dit not succeed.Then I uninstalled all windows updates til 16-8-2014.Installed SEP , succeeded !Installed VMware workstation 9 , succeeded !Installed the windows updates again.
